Science teaching restricts the development of basic education in Ethnic Areas. In the short term, poor quality of science teaching affects the balance of students in liberal arts and science, but this will reduce the scientific literacy and competitiveness of minorities in the long term.As a basic subject of science,Mathematics plays an important role in students'development of the intellectual and non-intellectual factors.Mathematics'teaching study,as a starting point, has a strong representation of science teaching study in ethnic areas. This study selects G Minzu Junior Middle School in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai as a case.Teachers and students are the two subjects. The study use the methods of questionnaire, interview and observation to show the actual situation of teachers'teaching and students'learning on mathematics in Minzu Junior Middle School, reveal the main problems, analyze reasons of these problems and provide some optimization strategies. This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction.Firstly, this section introduces the origin, purpose and significance of the study.Secondly, reviewing the theoretical and empirical research on mathematics education in minority areas.Again, explaining the relevant concepts. Finally, describing the main research thinking and methods. The second part is an overview of the case. This chapter mainly introduces the basic situation of bilingual education in Qinghai province and the hardware facilities, organization and management, faculty, students and the development of mathematics teaching of G Minzu Junior Middle School in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai province. In addition, analyzing teachers who teaching mathematics and mathematics achievement. The third part is the key section of this thesis. On the basis of clarifying research objects,This chapter shows the present situation of mathematics teaching and learning in Minzu Junior Middle School, which includes two dimensions that is teachers'teaching and students'learning.Teachers'teaching involves teaching philosophy, teaching practice and teacher training. And describing students' basic situation to learn mathematics from the internal and external factors. The survey finds that, with the curriculum reform, teachers'teaching and students' learning have made great progress. It involves teachers'mathematics belief, student concept, the conception of teaching, teaching practices, teacher training and students'learning style, but there are still some problems of teachers'teaching and students'learning due to the conflict between old ideas and new ideas. The fourth part mainly explores the reasons and strategies of main problems. The problems of teachers' mathematics teaching mainly include teachers have not paid enough attention to three-dimensional teaching goals;Score is still the most important criterion with which teacher evaluate students;Mathematics textbooks need to be further improved;Teaching methods do not accords to the students'learning psychology;Modern teaching equipment is not fully used;Teachers'training is inconsistent with their actual needs.Problems of students' mathematics learning include:Lacking of internal motivation to learn mathematics; Some students have passive attitudes of learning;lacking of confidence to learn mathematics; There is a contradiction between teaching methods which students like and the methods teachers actually employed; The frequency of teachers use multi-media can't meet students' needs. This thesis tries to put forward some corresponding countermeasures, which will be beneficial to the development of mathematics teaching in ethnic areas,to solve these problems.
