The emergence and rapid development of new media have impacted on the pattern of traditional media communication,and under the new communication pattern,the audience who has always been able to receive information passively also has the opportunity to spread information.Information communication presents a two-way nature.For example,the emergence of microblog enables the audience to have a public opinion field to express their personal views,and short and refined text expression enables the information to be output in real time and spread rapidly.The audience’s acceptance habits of network information also show the characteristics of fragmentation,and a series of new media forms in line with the audience’s fragmented reading habits also came into being.Micro documentary is the derivative of documentary in the context of new media.It has the characteristics of micro genre,micro narrative and micro communication.In the face of the changes of the current public’s aesthetic needs and reading habits,micro documentary has unique development advantages.The State Administration of radio,film and television issued several opinions on accelerating the development of documentary industry in October 2010.The introduction of this policy has opened a new situation in the development of documentary industry in China.Various media have responded to the policy call,not only constantly exploring in the creation of large-scale documentary,but also accelerating the pace of innovative practice in the field of micro documentary,such as CCTV,iqiyi,Phoenix Sohu and other new media websites have created documentary columns in the form of micro documentaries,and many new media platforms collect excellent micro documentaries for the society,and establish short video competitions,so as to stimulate the enthusiasm of the whole people to create micro documentaries,continuously improve the quality of micro documentaries,and constantly expand the development space of micro documentaries.At the same time,in the process of globalization,China needs to "tell the Chinese story well",and the national image,as an important part of building the national image,is of great significance in showing China’s national quality and social civilization.How to tell the national story well,how to tell the people’s life from a micro perspective,how to show the people’s diverse lives through multiple themes,and convey the spiritual quality and life values of the Chinese nation,Giving full play to the leading role of ideology in the new era is the communication mission of micro documentary as a derivative of traditional documentary.This paper specially selects CCTV network "China micro story" for case analysis,because the column focuses on national life,the theme of the column is clear,and constructs the national image from the perspective of national life through vivid character stories,which is typical in the case study of national image micro documentary.From a theoretical perspective,this paper analyzes the methods of character selection and characterization in CCTV’s "China micro story" from the two creative mechanisms of news framework theory-framing framework and narrative framework.Finally,it summarizes the general laws of micro documentary on the construction of national image,and looks at the development format of micro documentary creation,especially the creative subject of mainstream media,Explore the practical problems it faces in the new media era and what development strategies it takes to create better micro documentary works,so as to better tell the national story and construct the national image.
