| With the deepening of international and cultural exchanges,English education is also developing.English courses offered in the stage of compulsory education have attracted extensive attention.Therefore,this paper will focus on the English Curriculum in primary school,take primary school English teachers as the main research object,and focus on the cultivation of teachers’ cultural awareness of primary school students.This study is mainly carried out from the following aspects: firstly,based on the contents and requirements of cultural awareness objectives in the 2011 edition of English curriculum standards,and referring to the new requirements of high school English subject core literacy for cultivating students’ cultural awareness,this paper uses the literature method to collect data and write the theoretical part;Secondly,collect data through questionnaire,interview and classroom observation,and objectively present the current situation of the cultivation of cultural awareness in primary school English Teaching in the form of charts and text analysis;Thirdly,summarize the problems according to the current situation,and analyze the causes from different perspectives;Finally,formulate solutions to the problems,and summarize and sublimate the full text.The research shows that there are the following problems in the cultivation of cultural awareness in primary school English Teaching: Teachers’ understanding of the cultivation of cultural awareness is not comprehensive,the cultivation process of primary school students’ cultural awareness is not systematic,teachers’ excavation of cultural factors in their textbooks is shallow,the cultivation methods of cultural awareness in the classroom are lack of innovation,and teachers’ participation in relevant training activities is low.Based on the analysis of the causes of the above problems,it is found that there are many reasons for the above problems,including the following five points: emphasizing teaching materials and neglecting curriculum standards,and the relevant training is not in place;Shallow cultural literacy and insufficient language and culture learning;The emphasis on the cultivation of cultural consciousness is only a mere formality;Teachers have heavy class pressure and less cultural experience;Activities lack attraction and ignore students’ autonomy.By analyzing the causes of the problems,five suggestions are put forward to improve the above problems.First,change the teaching concept with training and deeply study the new curriculum standard;Second,broaden cultural learning channels and improve teachers’ cultural literacy;Third,cultivate cultural awareness and supplement cultural background knowledge;Fourth,innovate the way of cultivating cultural awareness and enhance cultural experience;Fifth,improve students’ sense of participation and enhance cultural learning autonomy. |
