From the reform of the college entrance examination in recent years,we can see that English reading occupies a large proportion of English test,so English reading ability is very important for high school students.However,in the actual teaching process,teachers often neglect the cultivation of students' reading ability.Influenced by COVID-19,all schools begin to carry out online teaching.During this process,we find that students are interested in English reading class.The flipped classroom teaching model is a model that combines online teaching and offline teaching.The paper tries to apply the flipped classroom to English reading teaching in order to stimulate students' reading interest,cooperation abilities and eventually improve their grades.This paper is based on constructivist theory and humanistic learning theory.This paper aims to discuss two questions:(1)What is the influence of the flipped classroom on the reading level of the students in senior high school?(2)What is the influence of the flipped classroom on the reading interests of the students in senior high school? The research chooses 100 students from two classes in a senior high school in Laiyang.The research lasts for 22 weeks.The experimental class adopts the flipped classroom English teaching mode while the control class continues the traditional English reading teaching mode.Before the study,the author tests the reading level of the two classes and uses questionnaires in experimental class to obtain information about students' reading interests.At the end of the semester,the researcher uses the final exam to measure the reading scores of the two classes and re-investigated the reading interests in experimental class.In this study,the author uses SPSS to analyse the result of reading comprehension tests and the data of questionnaires.In addition,the author interviews some students to know their attitudes towards the flipped classroom.According to the analysis of the data,it clearly shows that the flipped classroom can improve students' reading levels and reading interests.This teaching model can encourage students to take an active part in teaching activities.With rich teaching resources,the flipped classroom makes students interested in English reading.This research has reference value for English reading teaching in senior high school.During the teaching process,teachers should adapt to the change of their roles and select high-quality resources for students.In addition,it is necessary for teachers to cultivate students' independent learning ability and make more communication with students to know their problems.According to students' problems,teachers should give some corresponding guidance.And the after-class evaluation mode is also needed to pay attention.What's more,the author gives some advice to teachers and students in order to make the flipped classroom better applied to English reading teaching in senior high schools.
