| The level of English reading in senior high school is a more overall measure of students’ English comprehensive capability,while the teaching of English reading is a crucial and challenging point for teachers.In daily teaching,the author profoundly perceives that the capability of English reading restricts the development of high school students’ English level.There are top-grade students with poor reading ability and grades,moderate-grade students with rafferty rules in English reading,and underachievers with no strategies in English reading.Based on the above situation,the author integrates the flipped classroom teaching mode and English reading,conducting the experiment lasting for twelve months and this study lays emphasis on the following three problems:①whether the application of flipped classroom teaching mode in the English reading teaching of senior high school can arouse high school students’ interest-related motivation in English reading;②whether the application of flipped classroom teaching mode in high school English reading teaching can improve high school students’ English reading level;③whether the flipped classroom teaching mode can make multifarious high school students with various levels improve in English reading.Adopted questionnaire and experiment survey and so on,the thesis carries out the research in the following aspects:(1)the author reorganizes the relevant theoretical basis of English reading teaching in senior high schools to provide theoretical support for this study.(2)constructing Flipped Classroom Teaching Model for English Reading.An analysis of the tasks of English reading for both teachers and students before,during the class and after-class;developing micro-course teaching design;making a detailed diagram for micro-video production and a typical teaching design case for flipped classroom mode.(3)research design and data analysis of the application of flipped classroom in English reading teaching.The descriptive statistics of pretest and post-test scores and the analysis of the results of two follow-up tests were carried out between the control classes of the same level and the five experimental classes.(4)The analysis of the effect of the application of flipped mode in English reading,the conclusion,deficiency,reflection and the prospect.The subjects selected 200 senior high school graduates and 50 senior two students respectively.Located in Guangdong Province,the students of the private school of Class 7 and class 20 majoring in science,class 13 and class 17 majoring in liberal arts as well as class 20 are adopted as experimental classes using flipped classroom teaching mode to carry out empirical research.Through comparative experiments,the conclusions are as follows:(1)the flipped classroom teaching mode can improve the English reading level of high school students.After one year’s experimental research,the experimental classes and the control classes with similar scores reveal the difference in performance that the flipped classroom is 32.5%higher in the resolution of reading difficulty and interview than the conventional classroom in the comprehensive dimension;(2)the flipped classroom teaching mode can stimulate students’ interest in English reading.The experimental class of Class 20,Senior Three used independent sample t-test to analyze and compare the data pre and post the experiment,and the reading performance of the experimental class was tremendously improved;the reading performance of the three classes of the experimental class 7,20 and Class 20,Senior two has a certain improvement in the two tracking tests.(3)flipped classroom teaching mode can make high school students with different English levels improve in their English reading.In the flipped classroom mode,potential students,excellent students and underachievers have made some progress. |
