At present, bullying behavior is the focus of academic and social attention at home and abroad. As a special group of the society, the mental health of prisoners has attracted the attention of researchers.Prison bullying is a serious negative behavior that occurs in prisons, which has a serious negative impact on the physical and mental health of prisoners and prison management. In order to provide theoretical reference and decision-making basis for prisons to strengthen internal management and improve the mental health of prisoners, the relationship mechanism between prison bullying and prisoners' mental health was explored, which provide help for the psychological needs of inmates,at the same time improve the prisoners' mental health and provide reasonable and effective reference recommendations. The questionnaire method was used to investigate the impact of prison bullying on the mental health of prisoners with 1,143 prisoners as the subjects. The daily activities and lifestyle theory of bullying as the dominant theory, combining with the cognitive theory of loneliness, the main effect theory of social support, the sociometer theory of self-esteem constructed an moderated mediation model of loneliness and social support in the relationship between the mental health of prisoners. The results showed that:(1)Prison bullying is significantly related to the mental health of prisoners(self-affirmation,depression,anxiety),and prison bullying negatively predicts self-affirmation,and positively predicts anxiety and depression.(2)Prison bullying can significantly predict loneliness.Loneliness plays a significant role in mediating prison bullying and mental health(self-affirmation,depression,anxiety).(3)Social support plays a significant role in mediating prison bullying and mental health(self-affirmation,depression,anxiety).(4)Self-esteem plays a moderated role in the relationship between loneliness and mental health of prisoners.Based on the theory of variables, the research puts forward some reasonable suggestions for prisons,so as be conducive to strengthening the social, prison and prisoners' own attention to the phenomenon of bullying, reducing the adverse consequences of bullying. At the same time,it is of great significance to pay attention to the protective effect of social support and self-esteem on mental health and improve the mental health level of prisoners, which is very important for the long-term development of social health.
