Purposes: 1) To compare the personality, health belief, self-esteem, social support and mental symptom of low-income undergraduates with general students. 2) Analyzed the relations on personality, health belief, self-esteem, social support and mental symptom in low-income undergraduates. Based on the correlation analysis, this study use regression of personality, health belief, self-esteem, social support and mental symptom to explore the prediction of the middle variables to the mental symptom. 3) According to the above conclusion and the personality theory, bring forward the theoretical model, and explore the relations on personality, health belief, self-esteem and social support by path analysis.Method: Questionnaires. Research instruments include Multimentional Health Locus of Control Scales, Social Support Rating Scale, Self-Esteem Scale, EPQ-RSC and China College Students Adjustment Scale.Conclusion: 1) low-income undergraduates and general students have difference in personality, health belief and mental symptom: low-income undergraduates are more controlling, more lying, and the mental symptom of the low-income undergraduates are worse than general students. 2) Neuroticism, opportunity belief, self-esteem, residence and sex could predict the mental symptom. 3) Neuroticism, Intraversion-Extraversion and opportunity belief can predict self-esteem; Intraversion-Extraversion, Neurosis and Psychoticism can predict social support; Psychoticism and self-esteem can predict opportunity belief. |
