Clinical Observation Of Body Acupuncture Combined With Occupational Therapy In The Treatment Of Post-stroke Depression

Purpose:To observe the effect of Acupuncture combining Occupational Therapy in the treatment of post-stroke depression(PSD).Material and method:Collecting 60 cases among those who received treatment for post-stroke depression in the Department of Brain Disease Rehabilitation Center of the Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between December 2019-December 2020.Divide the collected cases into two groups by finding out what kind of therapy they received during they were in hospital,which included treatment group and control group,having 30 patients in each.Both of the two groups received the regular treatment for stroke.The patients in the treatment group received Occupational Therapy combining Acupuncture,which used Baihui,Taichong,Neiguan,Sanyinjiao,Shenmen,Zusanli,Fenglong,Xinshu and Ganshu as the acupoints.Furthermore,the Occupational Therapy they received was individualized referring to their own condition.The control group only received the regular medical therapy by using fluoxetine 20 mg one day.The recording time is 2 weeks later after the patients started receiving the therapy.To measure the patients’ condition,two scales were recorded: Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-24)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS).These data were analyzed by using SPSS22.0 statistically.Results:Between the divided two groups,there wasn’t significant difference in gender,age,time of suffering from the disease,HAMD-24 scores and SDS scores.P>0.05 was the evidence to prove this.And the scores were compared by each group its own first.There was significant difference between the pre-treatment scores and the scores after the two-week-treatment(P<0.05)in both groups,which showed that each group had positive effect for post-stroke treatment.And the treatment group’ s scores had been down more significantly,which called attention to that the treatment group had higher treating efficiency than the control group.Conclusion:1.Both of these two groups had significant treating efficiency on the therapy for post-stroke depression.2.The treatment group had a higher treating efficiency than the control group.3.Acupuncture combining Occupational Therapy might be a better choice compared with the regular medical therapy.
