Objective: This study investigated the status quo of self-perceived burden and quality of life in elderly patients with ovarian cancer, analyzed the influencing factors of self-perceived burden, and explored the correlation between self-perceived burden and quality of life in elderly patients with ovarian cancer,in order to provide theoretical reference for reducing the self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer. Methods: Using convenience sampling method,200 elderly patients with ovarian cancer from July 2020 to December 2020 were selected as the research objects.Demographic and clinical data of elderly patients with ovarian cancer were investigated by self-designed general information questionnaire;Self-perceived burden scale(SPBS)was used to investigate the self perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer; The quality of life of elderly patients with ovarian cancer was investigated by the functional assessment of cancer therapy ovarian cancer(FACT-O);Barthel Index(BI)was used to investigate the self-care ability of elderly patients with ovarian cancer; Objective to investigate the degree of psychological distress in elderly patients with ovarian cancer by using the Distress Thermometer(DT).SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis.Constituent ratio, mean and standard deviation were used to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics,self-perceived burden and quality of life of elderly patients with ovarian cancer. One way ANOVA and two sample t test were used to compare the self-perceived burden among different demographic and clinical characteristics,Multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the main influencing factors of self-perceived burden in elderly patients with ovarian cancer.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between self-perceived burden and quality of life in elderly patients with ovarian cancer.Results:1.The general demographic data of this study show that: the average age of elderly patients with ovarian cancer is(64.39±4.19)years old,the age of onset is mostly 60-70 years old, accounting for 90.5%;the education level is below junior high school, accounting for 56.1%;the monthly income is less than 3000 yuan, accounting for 81.5%;59.8% of the patients are new rural cooperative medical care or remote medical insurance;81.5% of the patients live with their spouses Most of the patients were taken care of by their children or others, accounting for 56.1%;78.8% of the patients received chemotherapy;50.3% of the patients had a course of more than one year.2.The total score of self-perceived burden of the elderly patients with ovarian cancer in this study was(28.35±5.25),which was in a moderate level.94.2% of the patients had self perceived burden,of which 55.0% had mild self-perceived burden,37.6% had moderate self perceived burden, and 1.6% had severe self-perceived burden. The self-perceived burden of the patients in the economic dimension was the heaviest, which was(3.11±0.89),and the emotional dimension was the heaviest The score of degree was(2.81 ±0.64),body dimension was(2.81±0.64),The lightest score was(2.64 ±0.86);3.Univariate analysis showed that there were differences in the total score of self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer among different caregivers' health status, economic income, medical expense payment, chronic diseases, disease course, current treatment, psychological pain, stoma condition, recurrence or not,and self-care ability(P<0.05).4.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that health status of caregivers, economic income, chronic diseases, disease duration, psychological pain, stoma condition and recurrence were the main influencing factors of self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer, which could explain 43.8% variation of self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer.5.The total score of quality of life of the elderly patients with ovarian cancer in this study was(83.26 ±9.01),which was in the lower middle level. The lowest score of functional status was(1.97±0.43),the highest score of social / family status was(2.74±0.37);the highest score of additional attention was about fertility(4.00±0.00),and the lowest score was about hair loss(1.59±0.83).6.There was a negative correlation between self-perceived burden and quality of life(r=-0.415,P<0.01).Among the dimensions of self-perceived burden, there was a negative correlation between body burden and quality of life(r=-0.336,P<0.01),between economic burden and quality of life(r=-0.263,P<0.01),and between emotional burden and quality of life(r=-0.233,P<0.01).Conclusion:1.Self-perceived burden is common in elderly patients with ovarian cancer, which is at a moderate level. Therefore, medical staff should pay more attention to the level of self perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer, and carry out targeted nursing intervention.2.The quality of life of elderly patients with ovarian cancer is at a low level. Therefore, medical staff should actively take measures to improve the quality of life of elderly patients with ovarian cancer.3.There is a negative correlation between self-perceived burden and quality of life in elderly patients with ovarian cancer, that is,the heavier the self perceived burden, the worse the quality of life.4.The factors that affect the self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer include the health status of caregivers, economic income, chronic diseases, disease duration, psychological pain, stoma condition, recurrence and so on.Therefore,we can reduce the self-perceived burden of elderly patients with ovarian cancer by intervening the above factors.
