Meta-analysis Of Efficacy And Safety Of Chinese Herbal Compound Containing Ginseng In The Treatment Of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Purpose:To systematically review the efficacy and safety of ginseng-containing Chinese herbal compound in the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients.Material and method:CNKI,VIP,Wan Fang Data,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Pub Med,Cochrane Library and Embase were searched from the establishment to November 2020 in any language.Clinical randomized controlled trials containing ginseng compound in the treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis were screened according to the specified inclusion criteria.The quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Cochrane Systematic Review Bias Risk Assessment Tool.The data were extracted by Rev Man5.3 software for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 664 patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis were included in 10 randomized controlled trials.The results of total clinical effective rate showed that RR=1.28,95%CI=[1.18,1.38]),Z=6.33(P<0.00001<0.05),the results of TPOAb showed that SMD=-1.36,95%CI=[-2.24,-0.48],Z=3.03(P=0.002<0.05),the results of Tg Ab showed that SMD=-1.06,95%CI=[-1.77,-0.36],Z=2.95(P=0.003<0.05),the results of FT₃showed that SMD=0.69,95%CI=[0.23,1.16],Z=2.90(P=0.004<0.05),the results of FT₄showed that SMD=0.50,95%CI=[0.33,0.66],Z=5.97(P<0.00001<0.05),the results of TSH showed that SMD=-0.91,95%CI=[-1.42,-0.41],Z=3.56(P=0.0004<0.05),the results of TCM syndrome integral showed that SMD=-0.79,95%CI=[-1.04,-0.54],Z=6.22(P<0.00001<0.05),and the differences were statistically significant.In the 10 literatures,1 study did not mention whether adverse reactions occurred;in 8 studies,neither the treatment group nor the control group showed significant adverse reactions or side effects;in 1 study,1 adverse reaction occurred in the control group.Conclusion:The treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis with ginseng-containing Chinese herbal compound can reduce thyroid autoantibody level,improve clinical symptoms and thyroid function level,with good safety.
