Case Analysis And Literature Review Of Upper Arm Rejuvenation Surgery

Objective:To analyze the effect of arm contouring surgery and review the clinical features,classification and treatment strategies of upper arm deformities.Methods:Medical records of 50 female patients who underwent arm contouring from January 2016 to January 2020 in Plastic Surgery Hospital were reviewed.Data collected included age,weight,height,surgery information,postoperative complications.Analyses were performed to assess the outcomes of different therapies of upper arm contouring for different patients.Results:All 50 patients(mean age,36±7.3 years)underwent upper arm contouring.Among them,32 patients had suction-assisted liposuction(SAL),11 patients had radiofrequency-assisted liposuction(RFAL),and 7 patients underwent brachioplasty.All the patients achieved better upper contouring after surgery.Two patients developed widen scar 6 months postoperatively.Conclusion:The treatment strategies for upper arm contouring included SAL,RFAL and brachioplasty.SAL is indicated for patients with mild ptosis and RFAL is suitable for the patients with moderate ptosis.For the patients with severe ptosis,brachioplasty is mandatory to achieve optimal results.
