The color difference of automobile repair coating is the main reference index for coating quality evaluation.The chromatic aberration problem will cause the newly painted body panels to be returned to the factory for repair,increasing maintenance time and maintenance costs,and reducing the satisfaction of car owners with maintenance services.Therefore,the detection and prevention of chromatic aberration defects is of great significance.Due to the product characteristics of water-based paint,it is higher in construction requirements and difficulty than oil-based paint,and it is easy to form color difference defects.In response to the actual needs of auto repair companies to reduce the color difference defects of water-based paints,the paper relies on the Yunnan Transportation Vocational College "Auto Repair Coating Color Difference Research" project and the BMW Kunming training base spray painting training platform,through enterprise visits,questionnaire surveys and simulated spraying tests Analyze the causes of color difference of water-based paint,and propose improvement measures to reduce color difference from the aspects of substrate treatment,color control,spray control,etc.The main research contents of the paper are as follows:(1)Research the function,composition,solid content,drying method of water-based paint products,and differences with oil-based paint products,compare each color space and color difference calcula tion formula,and provide a theoretical basis for subsequent color difference analysis;(2)Through on-site visits,on-site questionnaire surveys and online questionnaire surveys,investigate the basic conditions of the use of water-based paints in automob ile maintenance companies,staff configuration,tool configuration,maintenance procedures and color difference conditions;(3)Through the simulated spraying test platform,two brands of water-based paints from Parrot and Spike were selected,from sprayin g of the same paint,color analysis,comparison of water-based paint and oil-based paint,and pearl paint blending and spraying.To carry out simulated spraying experiments,to conduct visual colorimetry and color difference data measurement on test color samples;(4)Combining the enterprise survey results and the quantitative analysis of simulated spraying color difference data,it is clear that there are many reasons for the color difference of water-based paint,including spray guns,color palette tools,spraying methods,light sources,formulas,etc.,from human,machine,material,method,and environment.The causes of chromatic aberration are classified in five aspects.Analyze the relationship between the visual colorimetry and the colorimetry of the colorimeter,and put forward suggestions for grading the color difference according to the color difference value;(5)Research measures to reduce the color difference defects of water-based paints,and optimize the design of the color mixing process,the top coat spraying process and the porting process.For plain white and pearl white water-based paints that often have color difference defects,corresponding construction suggestions are put forward based on the scene simulation spray test.
