Tourist attractions,as the basis for the survival and development of tourism, play an important role in regional tourism industry and regional economic development. With the steady progress of the construction of A-Grade scenic spots in China, the types of scenic spot construction are increasingly abundant in meeting the various needs of tourism market.Among them, artificial scenic spots occupy an important position in the overall scenic spot construction. They have displayed personalized charm such as"turning non-existence into existence" and " turning text into things ",which expand the leisure and entertainment scenes, show popular science knowledge physically, and bring fresh impetus to scenic spot construction while meet the increasingly diversified tourism needs of tourists. However, each artificial scenic spot has its own distinguishing feature. There exists significant differences in the numbers, types and distribution characteristics of artificial scenic spots in different regions. At the same time, due to large capital investment, the development of artificial scenic spots is closely related to the level of regional economic development.Based on the literature review and the definition of relevant theories and concepts, this paper takes high A-Grade tourist attractions in China and Shaanxi as research objects and uses spatial analysis and mathematical analysis. This paper not only analyses the spatial distribution structure and construction types of China's high A-Grade artificial scenic spots and Shaanxi's high A-Grade artificial scenic spots, but also their relationship with the level of economic development. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)It is significantly different among the three major regions and 31 provinces in terms of the number, spatial distribution structure and construction types of A-Grade scenic spots, high A-Grade scenic spots and high A-Grade artificial scenic spots. On the whole, the construction level of A-Grade scenic spots, high A-Grade scenic spots and high A-Grade artificial scenic spots in the eastern region is relatively high, and there is a significant gap between the central and western regions, but the construction momentum of A-Grade scenic spots in the central and western regions is strong. As for the spatial structure of scenic spots,China's high A-Grade artificial scenic spots is characterized by a high degree of agglomeration," dense east, sparse west and transitional center" and "core-periphery" diffusion. The high A-Grade artificial scenic spots to the east of Heihe-Tengchong Line have a high distribution density, forming the core areas for the development of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots in the Bohai Sea region, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations, which shows the core-periphery diffusion characteristics with provincial capital cities as the core.As for the differences in the construction types of artificial scenic spots, the areas with high economic development level are richer in construction types of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots.Correspondingly,in poor areas, the resource-based scenic spots are the backbone for developing scenic spot and attracting tourists. For one reason, these areas own unique natural geographical environment and historical and cultural background. For another reason, poor areas are lack of funds for constructing scenic spots, which lead to the small and single artificial scenic spots.(2)There have significant differences among Guanzhong, northern Shaanxi and southern Shaanxi in terms of the number, spatial distribution structure and construction types of A-Grade scenic spots, high A-Grade scenic spots and high A-Grade artificial scenic spots.Guanzhong region ranks first in the number and quality of A-Grade scenic spots as well as the number of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots. The spatial distribution of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots is generally consistent with that of national high-A artificial scenic spots, showing the characteristics of high concentration, unbalanced distribution,"dense center and sparse sides".The Guanzhong region presents the "pole-axis" development feature with Baoji-Xianyang-Xi'an-Tongchuan-Weinan as the axis.Xi 'an is the development pole of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots, while in northern Shaanxi and southern Shaanxi, the core-periphery diffusion feature with urban areas as the pole is formed.Regarding the regional differences in the construction types of artificial scenic spots,Shaanxi high A-Grade artificial scenic spots can be divided into two categories. The first category is the joint development mode of Xi 'an-driven recreational,vacation-oriented artificial scenic spots, historical and cultural-oriented and scientific research and education-oriented artificial scenic spots formed under the characteristics of pole-axis development in Guanzhong region. The second type is cities in northern Shaanxi and southern Shaanxi, forming a scenic area construction mode that emphasizes local cultural characteristics and builds historical and cultural artificial scenic areas based on historical and cultural backgrounds as well as pays equal attention to people's daily leisure, entertainment, leisure and vacation artificial scenic areas.(3)As for the relationship between artificial scenic spots and economic development level,on the whole, there is a significant positive correlation between the number of high A-Grade artificial scenic spots in the whole country together with Shaanxi and the economic development level. For different types of artificial scenic spots, there is no significant correlation between historical and cultural high A-Grade artificial scenic spots and economic development level in the whole country. But in Shaanxi, besides the historical and cultural high A-Grade artificial scenic spots, there is no significant correlation between leisure, entertainment and vacation high A-Grade artificial scenic spots and comprehensive index of economic development level either. The reason why is that Weinan,Xianyang and other cities are greatly affected by the diffusion of Xi'an,making the data variability large. After removing the data with large variability, these three types of artificial scenic spots in Shaanxi are positively correlated with the economic development level. In addition, there is a complementary relationship between the construction of artificial scenic spots and the construction of resource-based scenic spots. The deviation degree of the two from the regional average level also indicates that the higher the economic development level is,the higher the construction level of artificial scenic spots is.This paper has two innovations.(1)This paper takes the high A-Grade artificial scenic spots as the main research objects to explore the spatial distribution structure of artificial scenic spots and the relationships with the level of economic development, thus adding empirical research cases to the study of China's tourism spatial structure.(2)This paper classifies artificial scenic spots and analyzes the regional differences in the construction types of artificial scenic spots, which enriches the research content of artificial scenic spots.
