Under the influence of western philosophy of science,Engels’ Dialectics of nature,as an important branch of Marxist philosophy,has become a hot topic in the academic circles of China in the 1980 s and 1990 s,and even continues to this day.In fact,there are many fans of Dialectics of nature abroad who are engaged in the research work in this field,but little is known in China.The author learned from his tutor’s overseas visiting team that Helena Sheehan is a senior scholar studying Dialectics of nature.In her monograph Marxism and the philosophy of Science: a critical history,Helena Sheehan introduces in detail the development of Dialectics of nature in foreign countries.In her autobiography Navigating the Zeitgeist,she describes in detail the relationship between individuals and Marxism.Helena Sheehan’s encounter with Marxism can reflect a miniature of the spread and influence of Dialectics of nature abroad.Based on this,the author studies Sheehan’s philosophy in order to achieve the effect of casting bricks and attracting jade.First of all,through combing and analyzing the collected literature,the author believes that Helena Sheehan’s love for Marxism is closely related to her growing up background,family environment and personal life experience.It can be seen that many factors have contributed to her rich philosophical wisdom,enthusiasm and feelings for Marxism.Secondly,the growth of Helena Sheehan’s philosophy is closely related to the spread and development of Marxism(especially Dialectics of nature)abroad.The carding of Helena Sheehan’s philosophy can show a three-dimensional picture of the development of Marxism(Dialectics of nature)in foreign countries.Finally,the research value of Helena Sheehan’s philosophy lies in that it can arouse people’s thinking on some traditional views of Marxist philosophy and arouse domestic scholars’ attention on the spread and development of Dialectics of nature abroad.The author’s understanding of Sheehan’s philosophy hopes to provide some meaningful reference and some possible ways of discovery for the elimination of the differences between Engels’ s Dialectics of nature and Marxist philosophy,and between Dialectics of nature and Western philosophy of science. |
