Parents’ family education methods are a combination of parents’ education ideas,educating behaviors and their emotional expression to their children,which are proved influential to children’s mental construction by the Developmental Psychology.Based on the Children’s Parenting Style Questionnaire revised by Professor Meifang Wang et al.from the School of Psychology of Shandong Normal University,I also added a new index called primary school students’ cognitive and behavioral index of sports dance practice.Meanwhile,literature data methods,interview methods,mathematical Statistics methods and other research methods were applied to measure the family education methods of elementary school students who practice sports dance,in order to explore the pattern of family education methods of elementary school students practicing sports dance and the interactive performance between these children and parents.The investigation object of this paper is the children practicing sports dance in8 sports dance training institutions in 8 districts of Guangzhou.Children are primary school students aged 7 to 12.80 questionnaires were distributed to each training institution,with a total of 640 questionnaires.Finally,573 questionnaires were collected and 497 were valid.The research results show that:1.The overwhelming majority of parents whose children practice sports dance are shown to be a kind father and a kind mother,which means only a few parents are strict with their children.There is a significant gender differences in educational styles between fathers and mothers.The difference in emotional warming and over protection to children are obvious between fathers and mothers while the difference in educating by anxiety and educating by rejection education are not visible.And they have a significant gap between daughters’ family education.There is a significant difference within the group of fathers and mothers on the choice between 2 education methods:educating by anxiety or emotional warming.There is a strong link between fathers’ education levels and the choice of education methods between educating by anxiety and emotional warming.The link between education levels and education methods are not so strong within the group of mothers but to a certain extent,there is a link between them.To some extent,mothers’ choice of educational methods between rejection education and over protection will be correlative to education level difference,but the correlation is not strong.Fathers’ choice of educational methods between educating by anxiety,emotional warming education,rejection education and over protection will be correlative to their professional difference in some degree,but the correlation is not strong.And mothers’ choice of educational methods between emotional warming education,rejection education and over protection will be strongly correlative to their professional difference in some degree.While,mothers’ choice of educating by anxiety will be correlative to their professional difference in some degree,but the correlation is not strong.2.The majority of elementary school students in Guangzhou City start to practice sports dance from their 4 to 8 years old age.Learning as a hobby and learning by parents’ suggestions are the main motivation for primary school students in Guangzhou to practice sports dance.The dominant majority of fathers and mothers support their children to practice sports dance,only a few fathers against it.Primary school students practice sports dance for less than 3 years and 4 to 6 years,while less than 20% of primary school students can persist for more than 6 years.Nearly 60% of elementary school students performed hard in the off-campus sports dance training class,while42.9% of elementary school students were still not active enough.63.1% of elementary school students have a positive attitude towards practicing physical dance,35.7% of elementary school students have a moderate enthusiasm,and 1.2% of elementary school students have the idea of giving up learning physical dance.30.0% of elementary school students often arrange sports dance content in the physical education classroom,44.0% of elementary school students say that their school occasionally arranges sports dance teaching content in the physical education classroom,and nearly25.0% of the schools have not yet opened sports dance courses.This shows that the development of sports dance classroom teaching in Guangzhou is not optimistic.57.2%of elementary school students said that their school can open sports dance interestbased courses,but the rest 42.8% of students attend schools without any form of sports dance classes.The major gains of primary school students practicing sports dance are listed below.Their communication skills with their friends,their sports dance skills,their physical fitness and their temperament are greatly improved in the process of practicing sports dance.Meanwhile,they will show more respect for their parents.Parent support is an important motivation for elementary school students to continue practicing sports dance,and the school’s sports dance atmosphere has a strong appeal for elementary school students to practice sports dance.3.Primary school students’ physical dance practice is mainly affected by four factors: social environment,self-awareness,parental support and self-perception.4.The family education style has an impact on the age of beginning practice sports dance,motivation,length of time period,performance,attitude,harvest,and continued sports dance practice of children.Generally speaking,the family education of loving father and mother is more helpful for primary school students to practice sports dance. |
