Under the background of industrial and mining development and grazing prohibition and rest grazing in pastoral areas,the issue of Non-Pastoralization in pastoral areas in Inner Mongolia has become a hot topic in academic and political circles.Grasslands Prairie is both a herdsman’s home and an ecological barrier in the surrounding areas.The changes in the ecological environment affect the social transformation and the changes behavior models of herdsmen.As a new research paradigm of social work,environmental social work takes meeting the needs of residents’ green community as its own responsibility,and shapes residents as participants in environmental governance to the greatest extent so as to promote the development of ecological economy.Environmental social work is based on social work expertise,the use of social work professional methods,the construction of a harmonious relationship between society and the environment,to solve the two aspects of ecological environmental protection and social development of the action,advocate the economic development re-embedded in the environment-friendly social relations,in order to meet the needs of human beings,while achieving harmonious coexistence between human and nature.In the practical framework of environmental social work,the problem of Non-Pastoralization is solved from the three dimensions of herdsmen,social networks and social policies,with a view to providing a new research paradigm and service strategy for social work to achieve green development.This study takes S Gacha,Wulat-Houqi as the research site,using the methods of field research and literature research,the Non-Pastoralization problems such as ecological destruction,grazing prohibition and excessive reclamation,the Non-Pastoralization occupied grassland of grassland and natural environment deterioration caused by local industrial and mining development were analyzed.These three types of environmental problems have led to derivative social problems such as increased vulnerability to livelihoods and weakening of social support networks.The study believes that,from the perspective of Environmental social work,strengthening the capacity building of herdsmen,enhancing social support networks,and conducting targeted policy advocacy will be the realistic paths to effectively alleviate the problems caused by Non-Pastoralization in pastoral areas.
