A Case Study On Improving Self-help Ability Of Women Victims Of Domestic Violence

As one of the hot social issues that has attracted worldwide attention,domestic violence has been repeatedly banned.With the rapid development of society,people’s lifestyles have undergone great changes,the family structure has become more diversified,and the original family functions have gradually weakened.The accompanying incidence of domestic violence is increasing year by year,and women are often in a vulnerable position in violent confrontation due to differences in physical functions between men and women,and become victims of violence.Although the government has taken active actions in the prevention and control of domestic violence,domestic violence still occurs in real life,and some women who are victims of violence are still unable to escape the predicament.A set of data from the third survey on the social status of Chinese women shows that 24.7% of women suffered various forms of violence during their marriage,and 5.5% of them were clearly beaten by their spouses.Although domestic violence occurs in the private space,it is not a family matter,but a serious violation.The series of problems caused by it are worthy of our consideration and exploration.Due to the particularity of domestic violence,the author uses field interviews to obtain research materials.Regarding the content of the article,Through the analysis of the basic situation,reasons and diverse needs of women who are victims of domestic violence,the author finds that women who are victims of domestic violence are in a state of learned helplessness due to violence.The reasons why women experience violence and their diverse needs;based on this,screen two typical cases,carry out case intervention practice,intervene in the strong demands of clients,help clients get rid of violence,ease their emotions,stimulate clients’ potentiestic violence practice,and to reflect on the shortcomings of the case process;finally,on the basis of practice,to explore effective strategies to improve the self-help ability of women victims of violence: to improve self-awareness and ability at the individual level,and at the community level.It is necessary to link and import resources,and to promote social advocacy and education at the social level.The three aspects interact to achieve individual active empowerment and external force boosting,and ultimately achieve true self-help.Social work is effective in intervening in domestic violence issues.Through case intervention services,it helps victims solve problems,provides support and assistance,and enriches practical cases in the field of anti-domestic violence.The author believes that there is still a lack of self-improvement for women who are victims of violence.They rely too much on the help of external forces and neglect the development of their own capabilities,which leads to the inability to extricate themselves into the predicament of violence.Therefore,in order to better promote the development of women’s own abilities,it is necessary to explore effective strategies from the perspective of self-help ability.The professional service process of social work helps women who are victims of violence to get rid of the dilemma of domestic violence,respects the self-determination of service objects,enhances self-awareness,enhances the ability to solve problems,and encourages them to face life optimistically,which reflects the value pursuit of social work to help others and help themselves.At the same time,it should cause us to think that social work plays a professional role,but it is not omnipotent.The power of the individual is limited,and the anti-domestic violence work needs multi-subject system intervention,and requires the government,community,society and other departments to work together.Only by working hard can we better realize the improvement of the self-help ability of women who are victims of violence.
