With the development of society,mental health problems have been paid more and more attention by people.In recent years,depression has been paid more and more attention by the public and has become a popular word.Depression has become a major factor affecting human mental health.Adolescents,especially high school students,are in adolescence.Students at this stage are not only in a critical period of physical and mental development,but also face the pressure of further education and social adaptation.They are prone to various emotional problems,leading to a higher probability of depressive symptoms.Gender,as a commonly used demographic variable,may affect the relationship between depression,positive perfectionism and interpersonal distress among high school students,but no research has been found to explore the effect of gender on the three.Therefore,it has certain theoretical and practical significance to investigate the depression status of high school students and explore the relationship between positive perfectionism,interpersonal distress and depression,as well as the role of gender among the three.This study is divided into two parts.In the first study,questionnaires were used,and the Positive Perfectionism Scale(ZPPQ),the Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale of Interpersonal Relationships and the Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used as measurement tools.The research subjects were high school students,and 1140 paper questionnaires were distributed,of which 990 were valid questionnaires,with an effective rate of 88.6%.The second study used the interview method to conduct interviews with 11 high school students.The interviews were conducted on the current situation and causes of depression in high school students,and how high school students’ positive perfectionism and interpersonal distress affect depression.The purpose is to quantitatively research the first study.Provide supporting evidence.One study found that:(1)Positive perfectionism in high school students was significantly negatively correlated with interpersonal distress and depression,and interpersonal distress was significantly positively correlated with depression.(2)Interpersonal distress played a partial mediating role between positive perfectionism and depression;(3)Gender has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between positive perfectionism and depression in interpersonal distress.In the relationship between positive perfectionism and interpersonal distress,gender moderates the effect of positive perfectionism on interpersonal distress.The second study found:(1)There are low depression,high interpersonal distress and high positive perfectionism in high school students,as well as high depression,high interpersonal distress,and high positive perfectionism;(2)The depression group had more interpersonal troubles,and the positive perfectionism personality trait was more significant in the non-depression group;(3)High school students’ depression is greatly influenced by interpersonal troubles and positive perfectionism;the negative emotions experienced by high school students mainly include irritability,tension,anxiety,depression and so on.This study draws the following conclusions.Study 1 shows that positive perfectionism can not only directly affect the occurrence of depressive symptoms,but also indirectly affect depression through interpersonal distress.Gender moderates the effect of positive perfectionism on interpersonal distress,which indirectly affects depression.Positive perfectionism in the female group has a greater impact on interpersonal distress,while positive perfectionism in the male group has a smaller impact on interpersonal distress.Study 2 shows that the relationship between depression,interpersonal distress and positive perfectionism in high school students is complex and diverse.Depression in high school students is greatly affected by positive perfectionism and interpersonal distress.The personality traits of positive perfectionism and good interpersonal relationships are both Can reduce the incidence of depression in high school students.According to the research results,the following suggestions are put forward: help high school students to learn comprehensive and objective self-evaluation,and by improving the awareness and ability of interpersonal communication,create a harmonious and good atmosphere,help high school students to establish a more positive attitude and experience more Positive emotions,thereby promoting the emotional state of high school students to develop in a more positive direction.
