Fast and prompt footstep movement is one of the fundamental characteristics of modern basketball.Athletes should adopt different steps to move according to the actual situation on the field,and complete the technical and tactical requirements while changing the speed,direction and position,so as to score and win the game.In recent years,basketball has developed rapidly in colleges and universities.At present,the research results of women’s basketball in colleges and universities mainly focus on the basic technical and tactical training and physical training,and the research on special functional strength training represented by footstep ability is still relatively scarce.This study takes the impact of functional strength training on the foot movement ability of female basketball players in colleges and universities as the research object,and uses the research methods of literature,expert interview,questionnaire survey,experiment and mathematical statistics to conduct an 8-week experimental intervention with 24 female basketball players in Jilin University as the research sample.The research results are as follows:(1)Before and after the experiment,it was found that of athletes in the experimental group,there were significant differences in the physical agility in broken line running,back defense and trunk stability(P<0.05).The test results of curve running ability without ball,curve running ability with ball,straight-line running ability without ball,body agility in lateral movement and multi-directional movement ability of lower limbs and legs showed very significant differences(P<0.01).(2)Comparing the experimental group with the control group before and after the experiment,it was found that there were specific significant differences between the two groups in curve running ability without ball,curve running ability with ball,straight-line running ability without ball,body agility in broken line running,quick start ability in backward defense,multi-directional movement ability of lower limbs and legs(P<0.01),which is proved that adding functional strength training on the basis of traditional strength training has better training effect.However,traditional strength training has more advantages for the development of physical agility in horizontal movement.In addition,both functional strength training and traditional strength training have a certain effect on the development of athletes’ trunk stability.(3)Overall,functional strength training has a significant impact on the development of foot movement ability of female basketball players in Colleges and universities.However,this training method is different from men’s training.The training content should be arranged according to the physiological characteristics of female athletes and the function of training.It should be noted that functional strength training cannot completely replace traditional strength training.The suggestions are as follows:(1)In college women’s basketball training,coaches should improve their cognition and attention to functional strength training.(2)In the training process,we should pay attention to the combination of traditional strength training and functional strength training,so that athletes can better obtain the foot movement ability required by the special project.
