The Influence Of College Students’ Proactive Personality On Vocational Selection Anxiety:The Chain Mediating Effect Of Future Self-continuity And Time Management Disposition

Vocational selection anxiety is a nervous,strong and lasting emotional experience when individuals face job selections,and causes corresponding physiological and behavioral reactions.There are many factors affecting college students’ vocational selection anxiety.Previous studies have shown that personality is an important factor affecting college students’ vocational selection anxiety.Proactive personality is a stable personality tendency of individuals to influence and change the surrounding environment through active behavior,which plays a positive role in promoting individual development.In the process of employment selection,graduates need to give full play to their initiative,actively understand the relevant employment information and market situation,and reduce the anxiety experience caused by the uncertainty of the future.Therefore,this study discusses the relationship between proactive personality and vocational selection anxiety,and introduces two variables: future self-continuity and time management disposition to explore whether they play a chain intermediary role in the relationship between proactive personality and vocational selection anxiety,hoping to enrich the research on the relationship between proactive personality and vocational selection anxiety.In this study,446 college graduates who are about to graduate were selected as the research objects,and questionnaires were used to investigate.Spss22.0 software and PROCESS3.5 plug-in were used for data analysis.Descriptive statistics,reliability analysis,exploratory factor analysis,Harman single factor test,independent sample T test,correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis and particle size analysis were used.To explore the relationship between proactive personality and vocational selection anxiety,as well as the role of future self-continuity and time management disposition,the results are as follows:（1）The independent sample t-test results show that the main factors affecting college students’ proactive personality are the place of origin,the main factors affecting college students’ future self-continuity are gender,and the main factors affecting college students’ time management disposition and vocational selection anxiety are gender,the place of origin and whether they are the only child or not.In addition,there was no significant difference.（2）There is a significant positive correlation between College Students’ proactive personality,future self-continuity and time management disposition.College Students’ proactive personality,future self-continuity and time management disposition were significantly negatively correlated with vocational selection anxiety.（3）College Students’ proactive personality can significantly negatively predict vocational selection anxiety and positively predict future self-continuity and time management disposition.College Students’ future self-continuity can significantly positively predict time management tendency and negatively predict vocational selection anxiety.College Students’ time management disposition can significantly negatively predict vocational selection anxiety.（4）Future self-continuity plays a mediating role in the influence of proactive personality on vocational selection anxiety.It shows that the stronger the initiative personality tendency of college students,the higher the future self-continuity,and the less likely they are to have vocational selection anxiety.Time management disposition can also play a mediating role in the influence of proactive personality on vocational selection anxiety.It shows that the individuals with proactive personality have stronger time management disposition and less perceived vocational selection anxiety.（5）College Students’ future self-continuity and time management disposition play a chain intermediary role in the relationship between proactive personality and vocational selection anxiety.This means that proactive personality can not only have a direct impact on vocational selection anxiety,but also have an impact on vocational selection anxiety through future self-continuity and time management disposition.Individuals with proactive personality have strong self-continuity in the future,and the stronger the disposition of time management,the lower the degree of vocational selection anxiety.
