Economic Adaptation And Social Work Intervention Of African Businessmen In Guangzhou From The Perspective Of Social Capital

At present,a large number of African businessmen flow to Guangzhou to "search for gold".While they are engaged in cross-border trade,the problem of economic adaptation is prominent.Its economic adaptation not only affects their life and work in Guangzhou,but also brings challenges to the foreign-related management of Guangzhou.From the perspective of social capital,this paper makes an in-depth investigation on the current economic adaptation of African businessmen in Guangzhou by using research methods such as questionnaire,interview,observation and action research.It is found that the economic adaptation of this group is generally fragile,which is mainly reflected in the economic income after transnational migration,the continuous growth of income,the satisfaction of income,and the business operation as a group of transnational businessmen,There is a certain degree of drop.Specifically reflected in: in terms of economic income after transnational migration,the overall income after migration has increased;However,the income satisfaction after transnational migration is generally not high;Lack of confidence in whether future income will continue to grow;In its transnational business operation,there are various economic maladjustment problems,such as single and closed trade information,frequent difficulties in trade funds,single channels for trade dispute resolution,and frequent difficulties in trade activities.Based on the perspective of social capital,the main reason is that in the economic adaptation of African businessmen,they rely too much on aggregate social capital,and the occupation and use of bridging social capital are very scarce.Aggregate social capital has two sides.For new immigrants who migrate across borders,social capital dominated by similar ethnic groups and blood ties will help them quickly establish a foothold in a foreign country;However,the limitations of this kind of social capital hinder the continuous adaptation of new immigrants;Bridging social capital is a kind of social capital with stronger heterogeneity and richer resource information.It can break through the capital income of aggregated social capital and promote the deeper economic adaptation of transnational migrants in the country of immigration.Based on this,in view of the current situation that African businessmen in Guangzhou rely too much on bridging social capital,we need to promote and help them build bridging social capital,so as to promote their economic adaptation in China.Promote African social capital in Guangzhou and guide them to build bridging social capital on the basis of aggregate social capital.From the perspective of social work,this paper specifically includes the intervention strategies of direct intervention and indirect intervention.The direct intervention mainly uses the group working method to help African businessmen coming to China build bridge social capital support with richer capital information and diversity,so as to weaken and reduce their excessive dependence on aggregate social capital.Specifically,through the development of the "China Africa interaction and mutual assistance group",the group mainly empowered African businessmen in the initial stage,eliminated language barriers and improved their ability to build bridging social capital;In the medium term,the group will build an interactive platform for Chinese and African businessmen and create platforms and opportunities for African businessmen to build bridging social capital in Guangzhou;The mature period of the group includes outdoor expansion for Chinese and African businessmen,so as to promote their continuous interaction and exchange,so as to help them build more information and more efficient bridging social capital.So as to solve the problem of difficult economic adaptation of African.The indirect intervention of social work mainly gives play to the role advantages of social workers such as resource link and policy advocacy,and carries out supplementary intervention by suggesting the government to build a cross sectoral comprehensive service platform and strengthen the construction of foreign-related professional social work professionals.In this way,we can improve the social capital structure of African businessmen in Guangzhou and alleviate the problem of economic adaptation,so that African businessmen engaged in transnational trade can live and trade sustainably in Guangzhou.At the same time,it also makes the grass-roots foreign-related governance in Guangzhou more perfect and the society more harmonious.
