Senior high school students are in the key period of their life development,their physiology and psychology are becoming mature gradually,and they also face many psychological puzzles,social anxiety is one of them.Social anxiety is a fear and avoidance of social activities,while coping style is a cognitive and behavioral change made by individuals in stressful situations.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the relationship between social anxiety and coping style of high school students and its intervention.In this study,462 students from a high school in Gan Zhou were investigated with a questionnaire about social anxiety and coping style,and the relationship between social anxiety and coping style was analyzed,and from the perspective of coping style of social anxiety for the group psychological intervention study.The results of this study are as follows:1.The number of high school students with social anxiety accounted for 29.4% of the total,which was higher than the national norm;High school students’ social anxiety has no significant difference in gender and whether they are the only child or not,but has significant difference in students’ origin,subject and grade.2.High school students most often use problem-solving and rescue coping style,followed by retreat,vent,patience,at least fantasy coping style;There are significant differences in gender,place of origin,grade,subject and whether the only child or not.3.High school students’ social anxiety was negatively correlated with their coping styles of problem solving and help seeking,positively correlated with their coping styles of fantasy,but not significantly correlated with the other three coping styles.4.After group counseling intervention,the scores of social avoidance,social distress and social anxiety in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group.To sum up,social anxiety of high school students is closely related to coping style.Group counseling based on coping style is effective for social anxiety of high school students.
