Gratitude is not only an old topic,but also a new one.Gratitude is one of the fine traditional virtues in China.Since ancient times,there have been many stories about gratitude,such as "returning a peach to a plum" and so on.In the past two decades,positive psychology has developed rapidly.It advocates paying attention to individual’s positive psychological quality.Gratitude has also been concerned by researchers and educators.Gratitude has a positive effect on individual’s life satisfaction,and people who know how to be grateful have higher life satisfaction.In addition,gratitude can enhance the connection between individuals and groups.For students,gratitude can improve their sense of belonging to the school.The improvement of school sense of belonging will have a positive impact on students’ life satisfaction.At present,some data show that some secondary vocational school students have low learning ability and more bad behaviors.They may have been excessively criticized by their parents,severely criticized by teachers or ridiculed by their classmates.As a result,they have low evaluation of themselves,resentment towards others and low level of gratitude.Therefore,this study first explores the status and relationship between gratitude,school belonging and life satisfaction of secondary vocational students,and then conducts gratitude group counseling,and tests whether the group counseling can improve the gratitude level of secondary vocational students,and finally tests whether the improvement of gratitude level of secondary vocational students can further improve their sense of learning belonging and life satisfaction.This study is divided into two parts:(1)to explore the status and relationship of gratitude,school belonging and life satisfaction of secondary vocational school students.420 secondary vocational school students in Ganzhou were investigated with gratitude scale,school belonging scale and life satisfaction questionnaire.(2)Two classes were selected as the test group,one was the experimental class,the other was the control class.After controlling the unrelated variables,the experimental class was given eight times(once a week)gratitude group counseling intervention,in order to improve their gratitude level,and then improve their sense of school belonging and life satisfaction.The differences of scores of gratitude scale,school belonging scale and life satisfaction scale between the two groups before and after counseling were recorded to evaluate the effect of gratitude group assistance.The conclusions are as follows:1.The life satisfaction and school belonging of secondary vocational school students are generally good,but their gratitude level is low.There are significant differences in the life satisfaction,school belonging and gratitude of secondary vocational school students in gender and whether they are class leaders.There are also significant differences in the origin of secondary vocational school students in gratitude.2.There is a significant positive correlation between gratitude,school belonging and life satisfaction of secondary vocational school students.School belonging plays a partial mediating role between gratitude and life satisfaction.3.The group counseling designed in this study can effectively improve the gratitude level of secondary vocational students,and improve the gratitude level of secondary vocational students can further improve their sense of school belonging and life satisfaction.
