The implementation of the "Birth control" policy, effective control of the population in our country, improve the people’s living standards, promote the economic development, but the implementation of the policy, also brought some negative influence,in the economic development of our country constantly in the process of advancing quality, labor supply, such as population aging problem began to appear. In recent years, with the gradual liberalization of China’s birth policy, the "single two children" policy and the "comprehensive two children" policy have both promoted the increase of the number of newborn population, but the duration of the policy is relatively short, and the root cause of the problem has not been solved. In addition,Chinese parents have always attached great importance to children’s education. As the proportion of children’s education consumption in the total family consumption continues to increase, the educational burden of Chinese families is becoming heavier and heavier.Although the birth policy is relaxed, there are still many families worried about "not being able to afford to have children and raise children".Excessive consumption of family children’s education may inhibit the release of Chinese families’ willingness to bear children. In order to more comprehensively analyze the reasons for the low fertility level in China, this paper chooses to explore the influence of family children’s education consumption on the number of children in a family from the perspective of family children’s education consumption. This paper firstly sorted out and summarized the literature related to the family children’s education consumption and the number of children in the family, then analyzed the family children’s number and the current situation of children’s education consumption in China, and then based on the theory of quantity and quality of children, the theory of cost and utility and the theory of fertility supply and demand. This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of family children’s education consumption on the number of children in a family and puts forward the hypothesis. Then, based on the data of Peking University Chinese Household Tracking Survey(CFPS)in 2018,Oprobit model, ologit model and Eoprobit model are used to discuss the influence of family children’s education consumption on the number of children in a family, and finally draw the conclusion:(1)The increase of educational consumption per child will significantly reduce the number of children in Chinese families.(2)Compared with the consumption of selective education and basic education, the consumption of extended education has a greater negative impact on the number of children in a family.(3)The total sample is divided into high level, middle level and low level, and it is found that the number of children in middle-income families is more likely to be affected by the per capita consumption of children’s education.(4)Compared with the case where the first child was a girl, the per capita educational consumption of a family with a boy has a greater negative impact on the number of children in the family.(5)There are differences between urban areas and rural areas, and urban areas are more sensitive to the per capita consumption of children’s education.(6)Happiness is an important channel through which children’s education expenditure affects the number of children.Based on the analysis of empirical results, this paper proposes to increase the investment of financial expenses in education to reduce the educational burden of families; To improve the quality of in-class education and regulate the off-campus training industry;Vigorously advocate the concept of "equality between men and women" to protect girls’ rights and interests in education; It is suggested to pay attention to the educational burden of low-income families and improve the happiness of family members,so as to promote families to make rational reproductive decisions, relieve the pressure of family reproduction, prevent the further decline of the birth population, and further aggravate the phenomenon of "low fertility".
