The Social Integration Of "Empty Nest Youth" From The Perspective Of Ecosystem Theory

In the process of deepening urbanization,more and more young people choose to leave their hometowns and their parents to work in big cities,and being single and living alone has become their living condition.In 2017,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Medium and Long-term Youth Development Plan(2016-2025)",which included youth social integration and social participation as one of the important development areas.Long working hours,individualized lifestyles,and marginalized living locations put "empty nest youths" at risk in social integration,causing society to pay more and more attention to this group.This research starts from the life world of "empty nest youths",through understanding the status quo of social integration of "empty nest youths",analyzes the social integration dilemmas faced by "empty nest youths" based on ecosystem theory,and finally proposes corresponding solutions.First,sort out the existing research of "Empty Nest Youth",grasp the research status,and introduce the related concepts,theoretical perspectives and research methods of this research.Secondly,conducted in-depth interviews with 20 deep-floating "empty nest youths" and found that the overall integration level of "empty nest youths" is not high,which is manifested in insufficient economic integration,community integration encountering double rejection of spatial separation and service loss,The involution of social relations and the weak integration of psychological culture.Thirdly,based on the ecosystem theory,this paper analyzes the causes of the social integration problem of "empty nest youth" from the perspectives of micro individuals,medium enterprises,macro communities and government.Finally,this paper puts forward the countermeasures for social work to intervene the social integration of "empty nest youth" from the four levels of individual,enterprise,community and government.At the individual level,professional methods of youth case work can be used to enhance the self-identity of "empty nest youth" and help them to develop and implement social plans;At the enterprise level,social workers help enterprises to implement corporate social responsibility and improve employees’ welfare by adopting corporate social work methods.At the same time,they should pay attention to dealing with ethical dilemmas.At the community level,social workers need to promote the construction of community service space,provide diversified services for "empty nest youth",strengthen the cultivation of community self-organization,and explore the mutually beneficial "Youth-elder sharing living" mode.At the government level,social work mainly plays the role of policy advocacy,pushing the government to change its development concept,including the dimension of social integration into the youth development city index,safeguarding the labor rights and interests of "empty-nest youth",and promoting the transformation from "empty-nest youth" to "nest-building youth".
