Introduction to tourism is the core course of tourism service and management major and other related majors in secondary vocational schools.Its content is mostly declarative knowledge with strong concept.It is difficult for students to remember,but it is logical.It is suitable for systematic review with methods.One of the goals of the course teaching is to organize the fragmented knowledge into a system framework,so that the knowledge is interrelated and conducive to effective learning.Mind map is the visual expression of knowledge.It is a beneficial attempt to use it in the teaching of "Introduction to tourism" in secondary vocational education.Therefore,through literature review,based on the theoretical basis,this paper analyzes the application of mind map,the learning situation of secondary vocational students and the learning objectives of "Introduction to tourism",and carries out the application research of this course teaching.By constructing the knowledge content system of this course,thinking about the specific content of mind mapping course teaching,which is divided into class summary,unit summary and final summary,we hope to better implement the teaching objectives and further cultivate students’ logical thinking and information application ability.The methods used in this paper include literature research,investigation and case analysis,including questionnaires and interviews.Based on the theories of brain science,three-level processing of memory information and cognitive learning,this paper takes a secondary vocational middle school in Chongqing as the research object,and carries out the applied research on the teaching of "Introduction to tourism" in three stages.The first stage: teaching design analysis,investigation stage.The analysis includes the teaching application of mind map,the learning situation of secondary vocational school students,the learning objectives and key and difficult points of "Introduction to tourism".The survey objects include secondary vocational school tourism service and management students and teachers.The survey methods are questionnaire survey and interview survey.The second stage: research ideas and research content of the course teaching of "Introduction to tourism".Research ideas include elaborating the rules and drawing of mind map,using mind map to make class summary,unit summary and final summary.The specific content takes unit 3 "basic elements of tourism activities" of "Introduction to tourism" as the case of class summary and unit summary,and the whole book as the case of final summary.The third stage: through the interview survey method,case analysis method,to show the results of teachers and students and interview survey,analyze the teaching effect,summarize the feedback and shortcomings of mind map applied to the teaching of "Introduction to tourism" in secondary vocational school,and research prospects.This paper draws the following conclusions:(1)mind map is widely used in the education industry,including basic education and secondary vocational education,which is applicable to the introduction to tourism;(2)Mind map can be used in secondary vocational classroom summary,which can improve teachers’ teaching efficiency and students’ learning effect;(3)Mind map can reflect the new form of writing on the blackboard.Teachers can explain knowledge points by drawing mind map instead of the previous writing on the blackboard.Shortcomings:(1)the scope of the study is limited to a secondary vocational school,and the sample is small.Through the hierarchical survey of students,reducing the variable factors and teacher interviews,sampling the teaching effect,trying to make up for some deficiencies;(2)There are various types of mind maps,and the specific choice needs to be made according to the characteristics of knowledge points,which causes some cognitive difficulties for students.Based on the analysis of feedback and shortcomings,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1)improve the sample range of teaching application,and draw more accurate research conclusions;(2)select the type of mind map according to the characteristics of knowledge,organize the key words,and achieve effective learning.
