| The main objective of this research was to study the work-based learning model in Zhejiang Technological and Vocational Colleges and Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College located in Shaoxing city was taken as a sample of vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province.The researcher wanted to explore the significant of the Work-based learning model as well as the strengths and challenges in implementing of this system especially by focusing on apprenticeship through practice in classroom training.The study employed a qualitative research method and data were collected in Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College in November 2020.Eight(8)teachers and ten(10)students from different majors at that vocational college were participated in this study.It was also employed interview with teachers,students in order to identify the strengths and challenges of the work-based learning practices in Zhejiang Province and how learners use materials available without forgetting to study the challenges encountered by teachers and students during practice in classroom training.The study was analysed the link between theories in classroom and practice in classroom training through the teaching model available in work-based learning as well as the quality of the teaching assured in order to give some suggestions to policy makers and relevant stakeholders in Zhejiang Technological and Vocational Colleges.After data analysis,according to the participants’responses and the researcher’s observations the findings show strengths and challenges in work-based learning implementation in Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College:firstly,the college has almost enough materials to train students in classroom training even if in some classroom the material is not totally due to the high number of students in some classrooms.Beyond the classroom practices,the largest training centres named SHAOXING PUBLIC TRAINING CENTER(referred to as“the base”(基地))in Shaoxing city is located at Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College with all materials and equipment necessary for practice in TVET program so teachers and students have opportunity to improve skills and knowledge in that base.Secondary,the biggest challenge is that the time is flexible and is not enough the teach all practice courses and the monitoring of every student during practice is not easy;some students aren’t serious on learning,it’s difficulty to finish the program due to the high number of students in some classrooms.Finally,findings suggest that practice time and internship time should be increased as well as adding practice materials in classrooms by following the number of students in each classroom. |
