Research On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Women’s Basketball League In Guangdong Province

Guangdong Women’s Basketball League(Abbreviated as "WGDBA")is the first provincial-level women’s basketball league in China,It has been five years since it was launched in 2016.The league can not only provide a place for players who have transformed from the professional league,but also help grassroots players to get further promotion.Excellent young players even have the opportunity to become one of the players in the professional leagues.This thesis uses the method of literature data,expert interviews,questionnaires,field surveys,and logical analysis to investigate and analyze the basic situation of the Guangdong Women’s Basketball League and the current situation of participants,Find out the advantages and disadvantages of women’s Basketball League and put forward some suggestions in the development of women’s basketball League in Guangdong province.The conclusions are as follows:1.As the first provincial-level women’s basketball League in China,the professional operation of it has promoted the development and enriched the culture of women’s basketball in Guangdong province.2.The funding for the participating prefecture-level city teams of the Guangdong Women’s Basketball League is mainly based on government funding,supplemented by social sponsorship and sponsors of related products.Most of the participating prefecture level cities get less sponsorship,which is not enough to pay for the athletes and coaches.3.The composition of the athletes of the Guangdong Women’s Basketball League fully reflects the broad mass base of basketball in Guangdong province.Education is mainly distributed in bachelor degree and junior college degrees,and the majority of them are students in school,which tends to be younger.Most of the participating athletes are ranking players or have received professional basketball training,which is also an important reason for the excitement of the women’s league games.4.The role of the coach is self-evident,and it is an important part of leading the team to success.The majority of coaches of the Guangdong Women’s Basketball League are men,mainly young and middle-aged.The coaches are public officials engaged in sports who have participated in coach training and have rich coaching experience.The coaches’ own sports experience are mainly in professional sports teams and sports colleges.They are more professional when facing basketball matches.5.The referee’s level of officiating plays an important role in the fairness and justice of the game.Guangdong Women’s Basketball League tends to be professional and requires high quality of referees.International and national referees “pass and guide” with young referees.The level of the referee team is above the first level and tends to be more younger.The referee team will intensively train before the match to ensure the smooth progress of the match.6.The media promotion of the Guangdong Women ’ s Basketball League is comprehensive.The success of the league is inseparable from the media.The promotion of the Guangdong Women’s Basketball League has added a number of self-media platforms and the promotion has gradually changed from the rigid text to the platform live broadcast,and the interaction has been enhanced.The intensity and breadth of publicity increased significantly.
