The Study Of The Relationship Between Differences In Values And Friendship Quality Among College Students

Friendship,as an important part of individual social relationships,is an indispensable thing in the growth process of each of us.It not only helps college students improve their ability to adapt to life and have a higher sense of happiness,but also can lead to fewer behavioral problems,and is related to social problem solving and good adaptability.As the so-called "Tao is different and do not seek each other" value as a deep-seated value concept,it may have a direct impact on the establishment and breakdown of friendship.This research systematically explores the impact of the friendship formation stage,the difference values on the quality of the relationship between good friends and impossible friends,and the moderating role played by the class environment.The research results are expected to provide some theoretical guidance and educational countermeasures for college students on how to establish friendship relationships and get along with their peers,so as to help college students establish good interpersonal relationships.In this study,freshmen in 35 classes of several general undergraduate colleges in Jiangxi were tested on the Chinese and Western values questionnaire and the class environment questionnaire when they were getting along for about 4months.Participants need to complete a relationship quality questionnaire for the two types of relationships that they nominate good friends and those that are unlikely to become friends.The results of using difference test,correlation analysis,and multi-level linear model analysis show that:1.The difference in values of the unlikely friend group is significantly greater than the difference in values between the good friend groups,and the friendship quality between the unlikely friend group is significantly less than the friendship quality between the good friend groups.2.The differences in self-transcendence values,conservative values,character and self-discipline values,talent and pragmatic values,and public interest values are significantly negatively correlated with their friendship quality in the good friend group.The difference in character and self-discipline values of the impossible friend group is significantly negatively correlated with the friendship quality,while the difference in public interest values is significantly positively correlated with the friendship quality.3.The difference in public interest values negatively predicts the friendship quality of the good friend group,while the conservative and pragmatic value difference positively predicts the friendship quality of the impossible friend group.4.The class environment moderates the impact of value differences on the friendship quality of the good friend group,and in a good class environment,the difference in Chinese core values significantly negatively predicts the friendship quality of good friends.The results of this study generally support that Tao is different and do not seek each other,two individuals with different values are not easy to establish friendship,and the difference in public interest values is not conducive to the friendship quality between good friends,while Conservative,talented and pragmatic differences in values can help improve the quality of bad relationships between impossible friends.At the same time,the more free and harmonious the atmosphere of the class environment,the more the individual desires to be more similar in core values between himself and his good friends.In this regard,we can suggest that students master some interpersonal communication strategies from the perspective of values.Do some ideological education on some core values,so as to reduce the differences in values between themselves and others,and at the same time improve their own ability to discern values,so college students can consciously choose similar and different people to establish friendship,so as to both Establishing long-term friendships with similar people can also reap the advantages of people who are different from yourself.Finally,we can create a class atmosphere conducive to the establishment of good friendship from four aspects: companion relationship,teacher-student relationship,management order,and learning atmosphere.
