childhood education.approaches to learning is very important for children’s development.It can not only predict children’s school readiness,but also affect their future school adaptation and academic achievement.Family is the most closely connected environment with children’s growth.As an important part of the family,parents’ parenting style and their relationship with children have an important impact on the development of children’s approaches to learning.From the perspective of family,this study investigates the current situation of parenting style,children’s approaches to learning and parent-child relationship in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province,and explores the differences of parent-child relationship between different parenting styles,as well as the relationship between the differences and the development of children’s approaches to learning.On this basis,it puts forward some suggestions to improve their own parenting style and parent-child relationship in order to promote the development of children’s approaches to learning.In this study,1235 parents of children aged 3-6 in Nanchang City were investigated by questionnaire.The results of the questionnaire were analyzed by ANOVA,correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediating effect test to investigate the differences of parent-child relationship among different parenting styles,the predictive role of parenting styles on children’s approaches to learning,and the mediating role of parent-child relationship in the relationship between parenting styles and children’s approaches to learning.The results show that:(1)The results show that the overall score of authoritative parenting style is higher than that of autocratic parenting style;authoritative parenting style has significant differences in parents’ educational background and occupation variables;parental parenting style has no significant difference in children’s gender,but has significant differences in children’s age variables.(2)On the whole,the intimacy level of parent-child relationship is higher,and the conflict level is lower;there are significant differences between parents’ education variables and children’s gender variables in parent-child relationship.(3)3-6-year-old children’s approaches to learning performance is generally in the upper middle level;3-6-year-old children’s approaches to learning of "curiosity and interest" has gender differences,boys score higher than girls;in addition to "curiosity and interest",different ages have significant differences in approaches to learning overall and each dimension,small class children score lower than middle class and large class children;There are significant differences in parents’ educational background and occupation variables.(4)There is a significant correlation among parenting style,parent-child relationship and approaches to learning;intimacy has a significant positive correlation with each dimension of children’s approaches to learning,and a significant positive correlation with each dimension of authoritative parenting style;conflict has a significant negative correlation with each dimension of children’s approaches to learning,and a significant negative correlation with each dimension of authoritative parenting style;There is a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of authoritative parenting style and the dimensions of children’s approaches to learning,among which the authoritative parenting style of "encouraging democracy" has the strongest predictive ability of children’s approaches to learning;the dimensions of autocratic parenting style have a significant negative correlation with children’s approaches to learning.(5)The dimensions of intimacy and conflict of parent-child relationship play a mediating role between authoritative parenting style and 3-6-year-old children’s approaches to learning;conflict plays a complete mediating role between authoritarian parenting and approaches to learning.Based on the above conclusions,this study puts forward the following suggestions to improve the development of children’s approaches to learning from the perspective of family: first,parents should make good use of encouraging democratic parenting methods,build democratic and equal family atmosphere,and encourage children’s learning process and motivation;second,teach children in accordance with their aptitude according to the differences in children’s approaches to learning,so as to promote the comprehensive development of children’s approaches to
