| Under the double context of the longstanding one-child policy and rapid social and economic development,a series of social problems have emerged such as great change in the family’s population structure and family structure in China,sex proportion imbalance,decline in labor force population proportion,low fertility rate and increasingly serious aging,which has posed a major challenge for the harmony of society,population and employment,health care,social retirement and long-term sustainable economic development.The reports of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China show that to realize Two Centenary Goals,we should strengthen population development strategy research and address the challenge of an ageing population.Under instructions of the reports of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,this paper,based on research on quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents,tries to explore weaknesses related to population policy,cultural and educational system and social medical security system which influence and restrict the relationship between quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents,so as to determine some guidelines in terms of population,culture,education,medical treatment and social security in future.This paper mainly focuses on the historical research and debate between quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents,the theoretical basis and theoretical analysis of the relationship between quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents,the test and empirical analysis of quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents and the proposed research framework.Through the research,it is found that scholars mostly study the influence of quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents from the aspects of children’s pension burden,pension burden and employment pressure,and influencing factors of older parents’ labor participation under the background of aging.Most of the research objects are based on the situation of Chinese urban elderly families.The research shows that quantity of children is closely related to the elderly parents’ labor participation,However,the results are controversial.In order to fully elaborate and demonstrate this point of view,this paper extends the research object to a large proportion of rural families on the basis of historical research,and the data is based on China Family Finance Survey(CHFS)data provided by China family finance survey and research center.In terms of research methods,this paper constructs the influencing factor model of parental labor participation,which will affect parental labor At the same time,on the basis of the above research,we further use some new data basis,research ideas and research methods to conduct innovative research on the impact of the number of children and elderly parents’ labor participation.The research result shows that quantity of children and labour involvement of older parents in the family have negative correlation.The fewer children there are in the family,the more labor supply of parents will be provided.The more children there are in the family,the less labor supply of parents will be provided. |
