A Study On Group Work Intervening In Social Communication Among The Elderly Living Alone

Under the influence of the long-term implementation of the one-child policy,the social phenomenon of population aging has developed rapidly,and the number of elderly people living alone in my country has gradually increased.The quality of life of the elderly living alone is not only related to the individual and family,but also to the harmonious development of the entire society.The health status of the elderly living alone includes three levels of physiology,psychology,and society,but the current living conditions of the elderly living alone are worrying,especially the psychological and social aspects have many problems.The social scope of the elderly living alone has shrunk,and they have been living alone for a long time.They gradually derailed from the surrounding people,and the social relationship appeared "broken".The lack of a social support network is one of the important factors.Therefore,the establishment of a good social support network is very important for the elderly.In addition to family members,the support resources of relatives,friends and the community should also be fully utilized.Under the guidance of the theory of social support and the theory of superior perspectives,social workers develop social groups of "you come and I go",using the form of group activities to help elderly people living alone establish a new circle of friends in the community and expand their social support network.By carrying out group work,using the mutual influence,mutual help,and mutual promotion between group members,the elderly living alone in the group can obtain changes in social cognition and the recovery and development of social functions.In the group,the sharing and support among the group members allows the elderly living alone to gain a sense of belonging,making them more willing to communicate with other people,enhancing the social communication ability of the elderly living alone,and promoting the integration of the elderly living alone with the society.Finally,it summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of group work involved in the social interaction of elderly people living alone,and puts forward suggestions.Social workers should strive to create a social atmosphere conducive to the physical and mental health of the elderly,develop activities for the elderly that the elderly living alone like and are willing to participate in,and enrich their spiritual and cultural life.
