Approach to learning,as an important part of children’s learning and development,has an important impact on children’s lifelong learning,gradually attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad in recent years.At present,the research is mainly focused on the relationship between approach to learning and children’s ability,family economic status,school preparation and academic achievement,relatively few focused on the approach to learning and parenting style.It is the family environment that occupies the dominant position in the children’s growing environment,and the parents are the object that the children come into contact with most frequently in this environment,which they parenting style have an important influence on their children.Based on the above,in this study,from the perspective of parenting style,the researchers focused on the approach to learning,the general characteristics of parenting style and the relationship between them.In this study,243 middle class and senior class children from 3 kindergartens in F city,fujian province were taken as research objects and data were collected by questionnaire survey,measurement and interview.The status of Preschool Learning Behavior Scale was measured by the assessment form of children’s approach to learning,and Chinese Parenting Style Questionnaire was measured by the assessment form of Chinese parenting style.Finally,the collected data were comprehensively analyzed by using SPSS21.0.The results show that: 1.The overall score of children’s approach to learning of 5-6 year old children is higher than the median value,the mean value from high to low is: learning strategy,attention/persistence,ability motivation.In different demographic variables,Among different demographic variables,there are differences inapproach to learning of children aged 5-6.2.The approach to learning of 5-6 year old children varies in different in different parents’ occupation,parents’ educational background and family economic level.3.The average score of authoritative parenting style is higher than the middle value,and higher the frequency is;the average score of authoritarian parenting style is lower than the median value and lower the frequency is;there are differences in parenting styles among different demographic variables.4.There is a correlation between children’s approach to learning of 5-6 year old children and parenting style,among which,authoritative parenting style is positive correlation with children’s approach to learning,while authoritarian parenting style had a negative correlation with the attention/persistence dimension of children’s approach to learning.5.After controlling the demographic variables,the attention/persistence of children’s approach to learning in the rule dimension of authoritative parenting style has a positive predictive effect;The arbitrary punishment dimension in autocratic education has a negative predictive effect on the overall approach to learning of children.Based on the above quantitative research results and combined with the interview results,the following suggestions are put forward to further improve the approach to learning of children: First,change the concept of education that can correctly understand children’s approach to learning.Second,improve the way of upbringing,to promote the development of children’s approach to learning by science and democracy;Third,attach importance to home cooperation and promote the development of children’s approach to learning through home co-education.
