| Since the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,the scale of bilateral trade has grown rapidly.At the same time,the education of studying in China has also developed rapidly,and the scale of ASEAN studying in China has grown year by year.The theory proves that education can reduce trade barriers and promote the fulfillment of trade contracts,thereby increasing trade volume and optimizing trade structure.Today,as global trade frictions increase,China needs to take education abroad as an opportunity to transform its trade with ASEAN and the “Belt and Road” countries.Based on this,this article studies the impact of education in China on bilateral trade between China and ASEAN,proposes innovative suggestions for bilateral trade from the perspective of education in China.On the basis of combing previous studies on education and trade relations,this paper analyzes the scale,structure,country,specialty,education,scholarship,and scale and structure of bilateral trade in ASEAN to study in China.This article uses 2005-2016 China-ASEAN bilateral trade data to empirically analyze the impact of ASEAN education in China on bilateral trade.The results prove that whether it is the breakdown of international student categories(Degree education students and non-degree education students),or subdividing ASEAN countries according to the industrial process,education in China will both promote bilateral trade.In addition,studying in China has a heterogeneous impact on the structure of ChinaASEAN trade products: the scale of studying in China can actively promote China-ASEAN trade in resources,energy,and labor-intensive products,but not technology-intensive products.Finally,based on the empirical results,this article puts forward specific suggestions for the perspective of China-ASEAN bilateral trade in China: expand the scale of ASEAN study abroad in China,industrialize study abroad education to increase bilateral trade;improve the level of Chinese study abroad education,increase the proportion of academic and senior trainees;improve the uneven distribution of overseas students,expand trade with countries in the midindustry;increase ASEAN overseas students Educational level to promote technology-intensive product trade. |
