Youth sports is an important part of national sports development,which can lay a good foundation for lifelong sports.Promoting youth sports development is inseparable from the guidance,promotion and protection of relevant policies.Through the comparative analysis of the important youth sports policies of China and Britain in recent ten years from the aspects of policy background,objectives,content characteristics,measures,evaluation methods and results,this paper finds out the experience of the two countries on youth sports policies.By comparing the differences between the youth sports policies of China and Britain,this paper draws lessons from the beneficial experience of British youth sports policies,so as to provide reference for further development At the same time,it is conducive to enhance the physical health of young people and provide guarantee for the steady and healthy development of youth sports in China.It is found that in terms of research and development process,Chinese departments participate in the policy discussion process through meetings but are not clearly responsible for the content of policy projects,while British departments participate in the writing process and are responsible for the content of their own projects;in terms of target groups,China mainly targets at the whole group of young people,while Britain will formulate policy content for a certain group;in terms of purpose,China focuses on young people’s development In terms of content,China takes "health first" as the guiding ideology and lifelong sports development as the path,focusing on providing conditions,opportunities and measures for youth sports participation;Based on successful experience and sports participation,the UK focuses on making children have fun.
