"New media children" and "digital children" are the latest portrayal of current children.In the face of the flood of information,children in the early stage of development do not have the ability of independent judgment and self-management,and various negative effects appear frequently.Preschool children’s media literacy education is more and more concerned.Guided by the theory of family cultural capital,this paper aims to understand the influence of family cultural capital on family media literacy education.The research contents include: understanding the current situation of cultural capital in different families;the current situation of media literacy education in different families;exploring the influence of various factors of family cultural capital on children’s media literacy education.This study selects three families as the research objects in an urban area,an urban-rural fringe and a rural area of Lanzhou city.Using qualitative method,this study investigates the media life of the research object from the following dimensions: the type and content of media contact,media use preference,media cognition,media participation,media use time and duration,media use frequency and media use space.It mainly interviews parents and analyzes the influence of various factors in family cultural capital on preschool children’s media life The influence of quality education.It is found that there is a close relationship between family cultural capital and family media literacy education;each factor of family cultural capital has different degrees and ways of influence on family media literacy education.There are three factors: parents’ educational background affects parents’ media education cognition;parents’ professional status affects media education time investment;family book collection and electronic media ownership affect preschool children’s media contact;family area affects family media environment;family cultural activities affect preschool children’s media contact frequency;family parenting style also affects family media literacy education Parents’ parenting style has a significant impact on children’s media practice.Children in laissez faire and autocratic families are mainly exposed to entertainment media,longterm use of media and low awareness of media participation.Parents in democratic families help children screen media content,reasonably allocate media use time and media participation They have a strong sense of participation.Finally,based on the above research,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the family media literacy education,such as changing the concept of media education and standardizing the use habits of media;helping grandparents media integrate into and narrow the family "digital gap";enriching the paper media reading and grasping the electronic media content;increasing education time investment and enriching family cultural activities;understanding the individual differences of children to make up for the lack of vulnerable children. |
