Core strength training first appeared in the field of sports rehabilitation,used to maintain the stability of the waist-pelvis-hip.With the deepening of the research on core strength training,the field of sports training has been widely applied.It has been accepted by most coaches in the training of high-level sports teams,and has significant training effects in various sports events.However,core strength training is not widely used in daily training in colleges and universities.This paper introduces core strength training into volleyball training in colleges and universities,explores the influence of core strength training and traditional strength training on volleyball players’ special physical ability in colleges and universities,and provides scientific and reasonable training means and methods for improving athletes’ special physical ability and technical level.Based on the full investigation of the previous research results related to core strength training,mainly using the experimental method,28 male volleyball players from Ningxia Normal University were selected as the research objects,and the group was evenly distributed to form a group of 14 people in the experimental group and 14 people in the control group.During the 12-week experiment,the experimental group was given core strength training mode,while the control group was given traditional strength training mode.Functional motor screening and three indicators reflecting specific physical abilities were selected to test: jumping ability,mobility ability,and arm swing ability.In carrying out the experiment of collecting in the two groups before and after the subjects FMS test scores and special fitness index performance data,and according to data analysis and comparison,found that the core strength training can not only help athletes has significant improvement in the special physical ability,and can also make athletes get better core stability control capabilities,to maintain body balance,and improve body coordination.Results:(1)Both core strength training and traditional strength training have significant effects on the improvement of volleyball players’ jumping ability,mobility ability and arm swinging ability.Both of the two training methods have significant effects on the improvement of athletes’ special physical fitness.(2)Compared with traditional strength training,core strength training has a better effect on improving athletes’ mobility and arm swinging ability.However,the effect of traditional strength training is better than that of core strength training in the improvement of jumping ability,and the performance is most obvious in the training of leg extension strength and burst strength.(3)Core strength training can significantly improve the stability,balance and coordination ability of athletes,which can not only improve the quality of athletes’ movements,but also reduce the risk of sports injury,and the effect is better than traditional strength training.(4)From the overall effect of the experiment,core strength training can significantly improve the basic athletic ability and specific physical ability of volleyball players,and it is a very effective training method.Although there is some difference between traditional strength training and core strength training in training effect,it cannot negate or replace its effect.
