Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.The CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core attaches great importance to labor education and establishes the new era education policy of "morality,intelligence,physique,beauty and labor",which also means the new mission requirements of labor education in higher vocational colleges in the new era.A new era in higher vocational colleges is: defines the concept of labor education new era to fully implement the party’s education policy,based on professional education background,and the fusion,between production and education cooperation characteristics of vocational education personnel training mode,to integrate into the labor project specialized courses in theory and practice and social practice of labor education factors and links,such as to the main line and bright color,to educate students in vocational college based on professional and vocational science cognition of labor,labor positive emotion,firm will,right labor behavior education.The labor education thought of the Marxist-Leninist classical writers,the labor education thought of the Communist Party of China,and the requirement of moral education in higher vocational colleges in the new era are the theoretical basis for the connotation definition of the labor education in higher vocational colleges in the new era.The particularity of labor education in higher vocational colleges in the new era lies in the following aspects: firstly,to implement labor education in higher vocational colleges by elevating labor education to the level of education policy of the new era,and to evaluate the effect of labor education in higher vocational colleges from the level of education policy;Secondly,it has the innate background of vocational education and can fulfill the mission of cultivating and educating students in specialized courses and labor practice of specialized courses.It can’t ignore the characteristics of general education and should complement the shortcomings of humanistic quality education of vocational students’ labor cognition,labor concept and labor spirit.Third,it is not only integrated into the integration of production and education in higher vocational colleges and the teaching mode of school-enterprise cooperation,but also reflected in the management,culture,operation and characteristics of higher vocational colleges with major factors.Taking the new era as the time limit,this paper selects teachers and students of 5 higher vocational colleges and 3 undergraduate colleges as the investigation objects,carries out questionnaire survey and interview survey,discusses the cognition and behavior of labor education in higher vocational colleges and the construction of labor education courses in higher vocational colleges and so on.According to the survey,in the period of transition to the new era,the labor education in higher vocational colleges has not only achieved achievements,but also has the following problems: the cognition of students in higher vocational colleges needs to be strengthened,the altruism of behavior is not strong,the enthusiasm is not high,the labor education curriculum construction is not enough,and the labor education mode is universal but not specialized.The fundamental reasons for the above problems are: the incomplete understanding of the "particularity" of higher vocational labor education,the insufficient understanding of the education policy in the new era,and the unequal social "mental" and "physical" labor.Based on theoretical analysis and practical investigation,around the labor education connotation and its "special" in higher vocational colleges,put forward higher vocational colleges labor education implementation strategy: the implementation of the new age of labor education in higher vocational colleges principle is: the labor education from the aspect of education policy requirements,the principle of combining vocational education principle,the principle of combining the ideological and political education,the principle of combining students demand;The main ways to implement labor education in higher vocational colleges in the new era are as follows: innovating the practice mode of labor education based on the vocational "background color",carrying out the theoretical education of labor subject by adhering to the unity of knowledge and action,giving play to the supporting function of social practice and social service,and perfecting the examination and evaluation system of labor education.
