The Influence Of Family Motivation On Subjective Career Success

In a person’s life,work and family are extremely important areas,and it has always been a hot topic the relationship between work and family.A lot of researches have explored work-family conflict and work-family promotion.There is,in addition,one further point to make,the view of family as the driving force of work has not received more attention and discussion,supporting the wishes of family.It is one of the values that encourage employees to work,and family is also the fundamental reason for many people to work hard.Therefore,studying the impact of family motivation on employees and organizations is extremely important.It can provide practical advice for the organizations’ management.Based on the action identification theory,this study wants to verify the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success.At the same time,we also examine the mediating effect of job passion on family motivation and subjective career success,and time pressure and job complexity as moderators.This study uses the research data of 281 Lanzhou University MBA students to test the research hypotheses proposed.The empirical results found:(1)Family motivation is positively related to subjective career success;(2)Family motivation is positively related to work passion and its two dimensions;(3)Work passion and two dimensions are positively related to subjective career success;(4)Work passion and two dimensions mediate the relationship between family motivation and subjective professional success;(5)Time pressure reinforces the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success.If the time pressure is high,the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success will be stronger;(6)Work complexity moderates the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success.When the job complexity is high,the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success will be stronger.The innovations of this research are:(1)This article has deeply explored the impact of family motivation on subjective career success and its mechanism,enriched the research on family motivation and subjective career success;(2)This research also explored time pressure and work complexity on the relationship between family motivation and subjective career success,and enriched our understanding of time pressure and work complexity as moderating variables.
