| Attention to disadvantaged students is a positive response to the pursuit of fair and quality education. It is the family that is closely connected with students. The family provides the material foundation and spiritual support for the growth and development of the individual.Since the release of the Coleman report, scholars have paid more attention to the influence of the family environment on the development of students in all aspects. This research uses the student experience as a research perspective to explore how the family environment of disadvantaged students in rural families affects their children’s educational attainment and school performance, and how the supplement, regulation, and enhancement of school education can be more effectively brought into play. This research mainly adopts the method of narrative inquiry, and forms the interview outline on the basis of the study on studying experience at home and abroad and the "Questionnaire on the Study of College Students’ Study Experience".The 12 junior high school students from X Town Central School are the research objects.Interviews and text analysis conduct data collection and exploration from five dimensions: academic performance, peer interaction,teacher-student interaction, school evaluation, and self-evaluation.Through the research,it is found that the study subjects’ learning experience is not good generally.Teachers and peers are their important others in the school system. From the perspective of the family, the plight of the family can be transformed into the motivation for the students to achieve selfbreakthrough. This stems from the individual self-reconstruction and breakthrough of the students.Among them, the parents’ education style,personality,parent-child relationship, speech and behavior in life, etc.Ways and styles will affect children’s selfperception, interpretation style and personality. As far as students gain experience in school, first of all, from the perspective of learning, academic performance goes to both ends.Research subjects with good grades place too much emphasis on grades and their self-complexity is relatively single.Another part of the research subjects regard learning as their own "enemy",and working part is their salvation.Secondly, the distance between teachers and students is relatively long.Whether in learning or in communication outside of learning, teachers have always been a symbol of authority, and students are eternal listeners. For these students,a gentle word from the teacher and a tap gesture can leave a long-term memory in their hearts. The interaction between peers is affected by personal personality, selfrecognition and interpretation style, and life experience, and shows differences.Good peer relationships are their emotional sustenance in school.Secondly, affected by school management methods, hardware facilities, campus atmosphere, and their own academic performance, the research subjects are less satisfied with the school, and most think that the school has nothing to do with them. Finally, there are more negative words in the evaluation of self and self-harvest.Through the induction of the research materials and the category analysis,it is concluded that on the one hand, the disadvantaged situation of the family can directly affect the students’ self-perception,interpretation style, and attribution methods, thereby affecting the students’ study experience. On the other hand, parents and other members of the family subsystem influence the core self elements of students, which in turn affect the students’ study experience. The acquisition of different study experiences interacts and promotes interactions between the individual factors of the students and the behavior of the parents. The lack of companionship and love is the common situation faced by the research subjects.Epstein’s overlapping influence theory emphasizes the impact of the interaction of school, family, and community on the growth of students, and emphasizes the role of love and companionship in the growth of core individuals.Combining with the internal model of Epstein’s overlapped influence theory, taking school experience as the core, analyze their mutual influence from the three aspects of individual, school and family. The individual is the core influencing factor, the family provides material and spiritual support for the students, and the teachers and classmates in the school are important emotional supplements and mitigating factors for the students. Finally,an interactive diagram of family, school, and individual interaction with the core of studying experience is formed. And the developmental demand model of disadvantaged students in rural families. |
