| Social events involving justice frequently become the focus of public attention, and individuals with high family risk often become the victims of justice events. The relationship between single or few family risk factors and individual belief in a just world is the focus of current research. Then, the relationship between the accumulated family risk factors and middle school students’ belief in a just world and the mechanism need to be further explored. Therefore, under the guidance of positive youth development concept and based on the theoretical model of resilience, this study examines the relationship between family cumulative risk and middle school students’ belief in a just world, and explores the role of social support and resilience in the influence of family cumulative risk on middle school students’ belief in a just world. In this study,1549 middle school students from 2 middle schools in Shaoyang City of Hunan Province and 3 middle schools in Jiaozuo City of Henan Province were selected as the research objects. The effect mechanism of family cumulative risk on middle school students’ belief in a just world was investigated by using family cumulative risk questionnaire, belief in a just world scale, social support rating scale and Adolescent Resilience Scale. The results are as follows(1)74.7% of the middle school students experienced at least one family risk. The cumulative family risk index of middle school students was 1(28.8%),followed by 2(24.0%)and 3(15.3%).Among them, there is a significant difference in the family cumulative risk whether it is the only child or not,and the family cumulative risk of the only child is lower than that of the non only child.(2)The average score of just world belief is 4.02(SD = 0.91),which is higher than the average of 3.5,indicating that middle school students’ just world belief is in the upper middle level. The only child’s belief in a just world is higher than that of the non only child.(3)Social support, resilience and just world belief are negatively correlated with family cumulative risk, while social support, resilience and just world belief are positively correlated;(4)Family cumulative risk not only has a direct negative predictive effect on belief in a just world, but also has an indirect effect on belief in a just world through three paths: the independent mediating role of social support, the independent mediating role of psychological resilience, and the chain mediating role of social support and psychological resilience.According to the results of the study,we put forward the educational suggestions that schools, teachers and parents should provide social support for students and enhance their psychological resilience while improving the accumulated risk of middle school students’ families. |
