Practical Research On Group Work Intervention In The Spiritua Comfortof The Elderly

Under the background of rapid population flow,there are more and more rural elderly people who follow their children to live in a new environment to help them take care of their grandchildren and do housework.According to the data released by the National Health Commission,the proportion of the elderly who take care of their grandchildren is as high as 43%.This special group not only faces the problems of urban adaptation,family intergenerational conflict and social integration,but also bears the huge emptiness caused by the unsatisfied spiritual needs.How to make friends with their peers,enrich their cultural and entertainment life,and deal with the conflicts between them and their children are deeply troubling the elderly.It is urgent to help them solve the problem of spiritual comfort.Based on the relevant literature review,this paper uses the method of questionnaire survey to make a preliminary understanding of the spiritual comfort status of 55 rural elderly migrants in W community of Zhengzhou City,and selects 15 elderly migrants from them for in-depth interviews.It further evaluates the spiritual comfort needs of rural elderly migrants in W community,and finds that the elderly migrants have the needs of family emotional support There are four aspects of spiritual needs: the needs of interpersonal communication,leisure and entertainment,and self-identity.Through further investigation and analysis,we find that the reason for the urgent need for spiritual comfort is the low level of education and backward ideological and cultural concepts of the elderly;With the change of environment,the scope of interpersonal communication is reduced;The lack of children’s company and the weak family emotional support make the elderly easily feel lonely and helpless.Based on the theory of social support,this paper explores the effective way to solve the problem of spiritual comfort for the elderly living in rural areas by using the method of group work "Community our home" six group activities,through the development of group activities,let the elderly to know each other,understand and establish the relationship of emotional support,to meet the spiritual needs of the elderly.At the end of group activities,social workers evaluate the effectiveness of group activities.In the process of carrying out group activities,although there are some shortcomings,it has a positive impact on solving the problem of spiritual comfort for the rural elderly,and the goal of group activities has been basically achieved.This study not only helps the elderly to establish a peer group support network,but also enhances the relationship between the elderly and their children,and enhances the elderly’s positive attitude towards future urban life.Finally,social workers summarize and reflect on the research and the intervention process of group work,hoping to provide some practical experience for the spiritual comfort of the rural elderly.
