Innovative talents are the key to the development of a country. As a reserve force for training innovative talents,full-time postgraduates play an important role in scientific research and innovation, and have an important influence on the future economic and social development and the construction of an innovative country. However, the research and innovation behavior of graduate students is a complex process, which is not only affected by the interaction of external environment and individual subjective factors, but also directly affected by graduate tutors,as well as important external factors such as the school’s innovative atmosphere and innovation resources. Therefore,it is of extensive and far-reaching significance to pay attention to and explore the research and innovation behaviors and influencing factors of full-time graduate students. This research is based on social cognition theory, planned behavior theory, and creativity interaction theory. It takes full-time postgraduates from four “double firstclass” universities in Shanghai as the research object, and uses survey data to conduct current situation analysis and differences.Comparison, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis, fully dig out the relationship between variables. In order to further verify the scientificity of the results, this article relies on in-depth interviews with some full-time postgraduates to explore the underlying reasons.Based on statistical analysis of data and related interviews, the main findings are as follows: First, the overall performance of full-time postgraduate graduate students in scientific research and innovation is poor, which is mainly manifested in two aspects:insufficient participation in scientific research and innovation activities and low quality of scientific research and innovation;second; There are significant differences in students’ scientific research and innovation behaviors in grades, professional categories, and performance rankings. There are no significant differences in gender, type of hukou, undergraduate school level, and scientific research innovation behaviors;third, individual, mentor and organizational factors have a significant impact on students’ scientific research.Innovative behavior has a significant impact, especially the guidance style and method of tutors have the most obvious effect on students’ research and innovation behavior.Based on the above findings, this research puts forward relevant suggestions from three aspects: students, mentors, and organizations: individual students should strengthen their own scientific research initiative and continuously cultivate good scientific research quality;mentors should continue to improve their own scientific research capabilities and conduct research on students.Cultivation should be given enough attention;as a university,it should continuously improve the scientific research environment and perfect the school’s tutor system. In order to improve the scientific research and innovation behavior of full-time postgraduates through multi-party collaboration.
