| In the study of Politics,"Political Participation" has always been one of the core research concepts.At present,the role of civic political participation has been widely recognized,the direction of research is moving to the influencing factors,aiming to discover how to better promote civic participation and enhance the level of national democratic politics.As a new force in the new era of our country,college students now show the characteristic of "active thinking but silent behavior" in political participation.However,exploring the political participation status of college students and its influencing factors highlight its practical significance.This article is going to use the civic voluntary model as the theoretical basis,through the empirical analysis of data from the2014-2018 college students value tracking survey panel data to investigate the current situation of college students ’political participation,so that we can test whether there is a problem of college students’ political consciousness and behavior mismatch,and then to explore the factors that affect their enthusiasm for political participation,so as to provide a way for the empirical research to improve college students’ political participation.This article first makes a brief descriptive analysis of college students’ political psychology attitude and participation status.The results turn out that college students are less interested in political participation,hovering between“ more interested ”and“ less interested ”,but the overall trend develops to “more interested”;and their internal and external political efficacy are at the middle and upper levels,external efficacy is higher than internal efficacy,but external efficacy has decreased with the increase of grades;students’ level of political trust in government,officials and the political system is generally high and still rising;the rate of online political participation is low,showing an "inverted U-shape" with the increase of grades,and the participation methods tend to simple ones such as likes and reposts;in the aspect of authoritative contacts participation,although there is less contact with college leaders and the mass media,the number of contacts with college leaders has increased year by year.The number of students participating in political resistance is extremely small,and the rate is still showing a downward trend,indicating that college students have a rational thinking in political participation.Campus politics discussions develop in a "positive U-shape".Although the number of students participate in seminar is increase,they are not active in discussions.After that,this article analyzes the influencing factors of four different types of college students’ political participation by OLS mixed regression and fixed-effect and random-effect models.And based on the civic voluntarism theory,the potential influencing factors are classified into political resource factors,political mobilization factors and political motivation factors.The results show that political resource factors are basically not related to each type of the college students’ political participation.While political mobilization factors and political motivation factors will affect various types of participation in varying degrees.It can be seen that college students currently have a relatively equal opportunity to participate in politics on campus,and will not be hindered by external objective factors.In political mobilization factors,online media and campus participation have a positive role in promoting college students’ political participation,but the negativeness of online media cannot be ignored because of the existence of a large amount of false information in online media.Political motivation is a key factor affecting college students’ political participation.High levels of political trust,political interest,and internal political effectiveness will promote students’ political participation.In this regard,this paper proposes that the government should strengthen network control,universities should start with characteristic campus activities,teachers should improve the level of political education courses and students also should actively cultivate their subjective consciousness,so that we can increase college students’ political participation motivation,and achieve college students’ political participation effectively and actively. |
