| General Secretary Xi has repeatedly emphasized the importance of population issues, which are truly related to the survival and development of mankind. In recent decades,my country’s economy has developed by leaps and bounds, largely due to my country’s demographic dividend. However, the "demographic dividend" period gradually faded, and the problem emerged.my country’s economic growth rate gradually slowed down, forcing the pressure of economic structural transformation and upgrading to increase, and the population birth rate was also experiencing a cliff-like decline, and the population aging process accelerated. As the endogenous driving force of economic and social development, population structure has always been the focus of scholars’ attention on the topic of population birth and birth policy. So far, many scholars have studied the macro-influencing factors of the birth rate in our country. However, the influencing mechanism of the population birth rate is complicated, and there are certain research gaps in the concentrated research on the current use of multiple variable selection methods.Based on this, this article attempts to use the variable selection method to conduct a comprehensive study on the macro-influencing factors of the birth rate in my country. This article first explains the relevant background of the birth rate issue and the urgency of research on the influencing factors;secondly, based on the review of the relevant literature on the macro-influencing factors and variable selection methods of the population birth rate,it theoretically summarizes the economic, social, and demographic issues. The impact mechanism of macro-factors such as government policies and policies on the birth rate;finally, based on the descriptive statistical analysis of China’s population fertility data, based on China’s regional panel data, using variables such as LASSO,MCP,SCAD,and adaptive LASSO Select the method to carry out an empirical study on the macro-influencing factors of the birth rate of our country, and compare it in the east, middle and west.Based on the research results, this article also puts forward targeted policy recommendations. The empirical research results of this article show that education level, population support burden, marriage and family conditions have the greatest impact on the birth rate of our country. The comparison results of different regions in the east, central, and west show that the macro-influencing factors of the birth rate in different regions have similarities and differences. The similarities are that the birth rate of the population is the most sensitive to the burden of the elderly population and the impact of the birth policy. The difference is that the birth rate in the eastern region is most sensitive to changes in t he level of educational development, the birth rate in the central region is most sensitive to changes in the level of urbanization, medical and health levels, and women’s contraceptive behavior, and the birth rate in the western region is affected by changes in the level of medical and health care. The impact is the most sensitive.Based on the research conclusions, this article believes that multiple measures should be taken to rationally control the birth level and development trend of our country’s population. At the same time,we must also adjust measures to local conditions and recognize that education, economics, and medical facilities have a role in boosting the birth rate of the eastern, central, and western regions.Great potential for change. |
