Aggressive behavior in early childhood occurs from time to time, which is a common and inevitable phenomenon, and is not conducive to the physical and mental health development of both parties.4 years old is the key period of children’s psychological cognitive ability development.Children begin to explore their peers’thoughts, motivation and other internal psychology, and try to make a reasonable attributions of peer behavior. Therefore, this study focuses on the middle-class age stage of young children, from the perspective of children to explore the attributions of peer aggressive behavior and coping strategy characteristics,to understand the intention of young children to peer aggressive behavior understanding ability,so as to help young children get rid of cognitive level of "self-centeredness",improve children’s interpersonal attribution ability, promote their social development. In this study, three research methods were used to investigate 73 middle class children randomly selected.Firstly, three scenarios of physical attack, verbal attack and relational attack were presented to children by hypothetical story scenario method;Secondly, using the interview method to understand the attributions and coping strategies of children’s aggressive behavior to their peers; Finally, with the help of non-participatory observation method to capture children’s aggressive events in daily life,to provide more sufficient factual basis for children’s attributions of peer aggressive behavior and coping strategies. The results are as follows. In the aspect of attributions characteristics;first, the attributions of peer aggressive behavior by middle school children exists in six cases:external objective attributions, peer personality attributions, peer intention attributions, peer relationship attributions,self-behavior characteristic attributions, and not attributions.Second, the vast majority of middle-class children can come up with an attribution based on the attack scenario, but there is still a phenomenon of not attribution.Third,Middle-class young children are more likely to attribute peer aggressive behavior to the object of behavior(attacker),with peer intent being attributed the most, while self-behavior characteristics are attributed relatively little.Fourth, the attribution of middle-class children is related to peer attack scenarios, and the attribution of young children is different in different attack scenarios.Fifth, there is no gender difference in the attributions of peer aggressive behavior among middle-class children. In terms of coping strategy characteristics:first,Middle-class children’s aggressive behavior towards their peers generates problem-solving strategies, seeking external support, negative externalization strategies, staying away from avoidance strategies, and no strategy.Second,Middle-class children can basically generate a coping strategy, but there are still some young children without strategy.Third,in peer attack scenarios,middle-class children are more likely to seek external support, followed by those who tend to generate problem-solving strategies and avoid away from strategies, and less likely to adopt negative externalized coping strategies.Fourth, the coping strategy of middle-class children is related to the peer attack scenario, and the coping strategy of the young child is different in different attack scenarios.Fifth, there is no gender difference in the coping strategies of middle-class children for peer aggressive behavior. Finally, based on the characteristic analysis of the attributions and coping strategies of peer aggressive behavior in middle-class children, measures are put forward to help young children improve their understanding and coping ability of peer aggressive behavior:set a good example to guide children to positive self-attribution;give children enough space to encourage children to solve problems independently;pay attention to their individual characteristics and provide corresponding attribution training.
