Dyslexia is one of the most common types of learning difficulties, mainly showing low reading accuracy, slow reading speed, not fluent and difficult to understand the meaning of the text and other phenomena, which will cause a bad impact on children’s academic and personality development.Studies have shown that dyslexia stems from the most basic and core visual spatial attention ability in visual processing. Therefore,it is necessary to study the visual spatial attention characteristics of children with dyslexia and reduce the incidence of dyslexia. At present,it is still controversial whether the visual spatial attention of dyslexic children is deficient, which needs to be further verified.Through a review of previous literature,it is found that different difficulty of materials may lead to inconsistent research results. In addition, only one research paradigm was used in the same research in the past, and the research paradigm was single. In this study, visual search task and visual attention span task were used to investigate the visual spatial attention characteristics of dyslexic children under different difficulty conditions. If the visual spatial attention ability of dyslexic children is deficient, what methods can be adopted to better improve the visual spatial attention ability of dyslexic children? Therefore, the following two studies are designed to further explore these issues.Research 1 is a study on the characteristics of visual space attention of children with dyslexia.Experiment 1 uses a mixed experimental design of 2(subject type)×2(task difficulty)to explore the characteristics of visual space attention of children with dyslexia under the visual search task paradigm.Experiment 2 uses a mixed experimental design of 2(subject type)× 2(task difficulty)to explore the characteristics of visual space attention of children with dyslexia under the task of visual attention span.Research 2 is a study on the visual spatial attention intervention of children with dyslexia, using the A-B-A design in a single subject experimental design to explore whether an intervention program combining action video games and visual perception training can improve the visual and spatial attention ability of children with dyslexia. The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.In the visual search task,Chinese dyslexic children had some defects in their visual spatial attention ability, which showed that the correct rate in different difficulty conditions was significantly lower than that of normal children, and the time was significantly longer than that of normal children;2.In the visual attention span task,Chinese dyslexic children had a deficiency in visual spatial attention ability, which was shown as the number of Chinese characters and strings correctly reported under different difficulty conditions were significantly lower than that of normal children;3.The difficulty of materials has an impact on children’s visuospatial attention;4.An intervention program that combines action video games and audiovisual perception can improve the visual and spatial attention ability of children with Chinese dyslexia.
