Objective:Metabolic and cardiovascular diseases induced by overweight/obesity have serious harm to human health.Physical exercise is one of the preferred none-pharmacological approaches for weight loss and health promotion.High intensity interval training(HIIT)is a popular way of weight loss and fitness in recent years. This paper aimed to discuss the effects of a bout of HIIT intervention and 8-week HIIT intervention on osteocalcin, glucose and lipid metabolism, and arterial stiffness in overweight young men.Research methods:According to their BMI,Thirty young men were divided into overweight group(fifteen,24≤BMI<28KG/m2)and non overweight group(fifteen,18.5≤BMI<24kg/m2).The acute HIIT procedure was as follow:6x3 min at 90%VO2maxinterrupted with 2 min active recovery at 25%VO2max.Pre exercise, post exercise immediately, and 30 min post exercise, the blood samples were collected and the arterial stiffness was measured.During the exercise intervention, the exercise subjects were required to wear a heart rate band to monitor the exercise intensity. One week later,8 weeks of HIIT intervention was carried out, three sessions per week. One session scheme of 8 weeks of HIIT intervention was the same as the acute HIIT intervention.Blood samples were collected 48 hours before first session and 48 hours after the last session.During the 8-week intervention, the subjects were required to keep their diet and physical activity.Serum OC was detected by chemiluminescence, testosterone was detected by radioimmunoassay, biochemical indicators of glucose and lipid metabolism were detected by clinical colorimetry, and arterial stiffness was detected by arteriosclerosis detector VS-1000 for CAVI The data were analyzed by spss26.0.Results:The results of acute intervention were as follows1.The serum osteocalcin level in overweight young men decreased significantly immediately after a bout of HIIT intervention, and significantly increased after 30 minutes of rest, which was significantly higher than that of pre intervention;2.Immediately after a bout of HIIT intervention, the arterial stiffness in overweight young men decreased significantly and returned to the baseline value after 30 minutes of rest;3.Immediately after an acute HIIT intervention, the serum testosterone level in overweight young men increased significantly and returned to the baseline value after 30 minutes of rest.4.Immediately after an acute HIIT intervention, serum OC levels were not associated with changes in testosterone and arterial hardness. The results of 8-week HIIT intervention were as follows1.Compared with before intervention, the weight,BMI,body fat rate, fat content, waist circumference and waist hip ratio in overweight young men decreased significantly after8-week HIIT intervention, while the lean weight and hip circumference did not change significantly;2.Compared with before intervention, there was no significant change in serum osteocalcin level in overweight young men after 8-week HIIT intervention;3.Compared with before intervention, fasting blood glucose and insulin levels, insulin resistance index and serum total cholesterol levels in overweight young men decreased significantly after 8-week HIIT intervention, and insulin sensitivity increased significantly, while serum triglyceride,HDL-C and LDL-C levels did not change significantly;4.Compared with before intervention, the arterial stiffness and the systolic blood pressure in overweight young men decreased significantly after 8-week HIIT intervention;5.Compared with before intervention, the serum testosterone level in overweight young men increased significantly after 8-week HIIT intervention;6.Compared with before intervention, the maximal oxygen uptake of overweight male youth increased significantly after 8-week HIIT intervention, the exhaustion time prolonged significantly;the squatting performance in overweight young men increased significantly, but the standing long jump performance had no significant change.7.After 8 weeks of high-intensity interval training, changes in arterial hardness were significantly associated with changes in VO2 Max,but not with changes in any of the other indicators with significant changes.Conclusion1.8-week high-intensity interval training can continue the decreasing effect of single high-intensity interval training on arterial stiffness and stimulating effect on testosterone in overweight young men,but can not continue its stimulating effect on circulating osteocalcin.2.8-week of high intensity interval training can improve the cardiopulmonary and muscle fitness of overweight young men.3.The changes in arterial hardness induced by 8-week of high intensity interval training are associated with changes in cardiopulmonary fitness. |
