Since the 21 st century,with the widespread application of digital information technology,the modernization of education requires teachers to have the necessary "digital literacy".At present,relevant research focuses on the information skills training of in-service teachers,and there is not much research on the digital literacy of pre-service teachers.This study takes a provincial normal university S university as a case.S university is a provincial key normal university in the western region and ranks above the middle of the country in the training of teacher students.The survey of the current situation of the digital literacy of normal students of S university can It better reflects the general situation across the country;as an excellent normal university in the western region,S University’s digital literacy of teacher students can also reflect the level of digital literacy development of normal students in the western region.Therefore,we investigate the current characteristics of the digital literacy of normal students in S University,analyze the key factors that affect the digital literacy of normal students,and explore possible strategies to improve the digital literacy of normal students.This research mainly uses questionnaire method and interview method.First of all,based on the EU’s digital literacy framework and the information literacy framework of my country’s Ministry of Education for normal students,we independently designed the "Questionnaire on Digital Literacy of Normal Students".The reliability level of the questionnaire is 0.947,and the value of the standardized item of each indicator also reaches 0.947,showing a good structure,which shows that the questionnaire has high internal consistency and high reliability.The KMO value of the questionnaire’s validity in the seven dimensions is 0.751,indicating that the analysis of the questionnaire’s various factors is appropriate and the internal validity is good.This study conducted a stratified sampling of normal students in S University,conducted a questionnaire survey of 320 normal students,and conducted in-depth interviews with 12 normal students.The survey results show that the digital literacy of normal students in S University has the following characteristics: The overall level of digital literacy is relatively high,which is mainly manifested in the better literacy of general basic digital technology,which is mainly due to the digital survival of contemporary normal students as "indigenous people" in the information society.Determined by the environment;a strong sense of security,but lack of systematic training in the security protection skills necessary for teaching such as privacy,intellectual property rights,etc.,showed obvious deficiencies;the existing digital literacy can basically support the learning activities of college students,But it is far from being able to support teaching activities as teachers.Teacher students can obtain rich new digital content through new media such as station B,Weibo,We Chat,but their own digital content creation ability is insufficient.Combining questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews,this study found that the main factors affecting the development of digital literacy of normal students in S University are as follows: First,the personal characteristics of normal students.As the grade increases,the upgrading of learning tasks leads to a significant increase in the level of digital literacy;people with different academic backgrounds Normal students’ reliance on digital technology varies greatly;based on academic performance,normal students’ initiative in using digital tools is not strong;gender differences affect the attitude and ability of normal students to solve network problems;Digital literacy training programs for students are still being formed.Teachers’ colleges lack special digital literacy courses and digital learning environments,and digital literacy education lacks teachers’ participation and other issues.The third is the macro environment and the imbalance of regional economic development,resulting in insufficient school funding and the support of normal students’ home digital equipment.Therefore,improvement strategies are proposed from the three aspects of the country,universities,and individuals: strengthen the ability training of normal students to use information technology and participate in digital content creation;strengthen the digital literacy policy guidance and improve the infrastructure of educational information;establish a digital literacy training curriculum system and strengthen Information technology training for teachers,etc.
