Relationship Between Ethnic Socialization And Life Satisfaction Of Hui Junior High School Students | | Posted on:2021-07-14 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:S G Yang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2507306197491694 | Subject:Master of Education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Ethnic socialization is the process of practice and recognition of the information about the ethnic background,culture and relations between ethnic groups received by ethnic individuals in the process of development and interaction with the outside world,which is of great significance to the mental health of ethnic individuals.In this study,576 junior high school students of the hui and 133 junior high school students of the han from grade 7 to grade 9 in 6 junior high schools in wuzhong city,ningxia hui autonomous region were selected as the research objects The measuring tools included:(1)the ethnic socialization questionnaire compiled by Yin koli(2018),(2)the life satisfaction scale prepared by zhang xinggui and he liguo(2004),(3)the school adjustment questionnaire prepared by trina(2008)for junior high school students,(4)the self-identity scale prepared by ochs and plagg(1986).These methods to investigate the frequency and gender differences in the dimensions of ethnic socialization received by junior high school students of the hui and the han.The research will analyze the relationship between ethnic socialization,self-identity,school adaptation and life satisfaction,and explore the relationship between ethnic socialization and life satisfaction of junior high school students of the hui,so as to provide reference value for promoting ethnic unity and improving the mental health of junior high school students of minority.The results show that:(1)Hui junior high school students have no obvious difference in accepting information promoting harmony,cultural socialization and contact with other ethnic groups,but there is a significant gender difference in promoting distrust and prejudice preparation.Male students receive more information promoting distrust and prejudice preparation than female students.(2)Junior high school students of the Han are more likely to receive information from other ethnic groups in promoting harmony and contact with them than those from the Hui.They are also significantly more likely to adapt to schoolthan those from the Hui.There are no significant differences in cultural socialization,information reception that promotes distrust and prejudice,self-identification and life satisfaction.(3)Promoting harmony,cultural socialization and contact with other ethnic groups directly and significantly positively predicted the life satisfaction of junior middle school students of Hui ethnic group,and indirectly predicted the life satisfaction by independently positively predicting the self-identity,school adaptation and self-identity → the sequence mediating effect of school adaptation.(4)Promoting distrust to directly and negatively predict the life satisfaction of junior high school students of the hui,and indirectly predicting life satisfaction through the mediating effect of school adaptation.(5)The direct prediction effect of bias preparation on the life satisfaction of junior middle school students of the hui is not significant,but the mediating effect of negative prediction on school adaptation and school adaptation →self-identity predicts life satisfaction indirectly. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | ethnic socialization, life satisfaction, self-identity, school adaptation, Hui junior high school students | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
